Yes, but the PTR is a staging environment. With high likelihood the existing bot won't work out-of-the-box.
So by making it work with PTR, you're more likely to have a working bot on the same day 1.29 is on the stable realms.

It's a staging environment for lots of fundamental changes to the game.
It's an opportunity to make your bot work with wc3 1.29 before it's release, not after.
