I tried on both east and west, neither worked. I forget which, one gave me the error message that I quoted above, and the other just didn't let me join the game entirely (based on what you said I assume that was east)

Mac OS user here.
My computer does not get past the load screen.
It also doesn't work for the newer LoD patches either.
It seems that since the 6.83c patch, the game wont work for both DotA or LoD.
This wont affect me for much longer, but yeah, it wont work!

I have sent an email off to Draco, so we'll see if he respond. Fortunately my PC will be built soon (I talked about it and linked it above) and then this problem should go away.
I wouldn't think this would be resolved by reinstalling ROC and TFT, but I might try it just for kicks.
