So I was just in a game with Lynx- as titan (i'm not actually 100% sure that he is an admin/mod but regardless you can make this into a hypothetical), he was lagging hard and was dropped by 6 players about 2 minutes into the game (about 5 min of game time has occurred but the lag prevented us from playing). Lynx- was clearly there and it wasnt a plug pull so if a ban request was made it would be denied however that got me thinking... If an admin/mod disconnected as titan within 10 minutes of the game would they be banned because it is against the rules? Would there be a more severe punishment because the admin/mod is suppose to be an ideologue for ENT or would the punishment be less severe (if any) because there is a hierarchical structure for this type of thing?
Thoughts/comments/answers most welcome

Ban Request for an Admin?
Re: Ban Request for an Admin?
Hmm.. Seems the answer should be obvious. If a mod is dropped due to lag within the first 10 minutes it certainly wouldn't be bannable seeing as the user can't control lag issues. Though if your question is whether or not the mod would be banned due to an early leave or a plug pull, your answer is most likely yes. I'm sure the mod may be banned for a short period of time in order to keep rules in place, but I really don't think leaving as titan is a severe offence (in my opinion).
Im good

Re: Ban Request for an Admin?
There are ways of determining if it was intentional. However this is not the BGN days and looking at the current staff, it's very unlikely any of us would game ruin like that. If we did, duration might depend on who processes the ban. It should be just as long as a normal player's ban, though.
Since we are in close contact with each other and because our word may carry a bit more weight, our ban appeals might be processed quicker than usual.
The biggest consequence for staff is being treated differently going forward from the incident. Trust is important.

Re: Ban Request for an Admin?
Lynx == not an admin
Lagging == no ban
I'd move this topic, but it seems I no longer can.

I'm sorry that I lagged out this game, I was downloading hardcore bondage porn to give timmy on his birthday. If you want me to make it up to I can gladly send it to you as well.

Back at BGN I remember an admin banned himself for accidentally activating -exp

Re: Ban Request for an Admin?
I would just like to clarify that I am not attacking you, I am merely asking the question using the game you lagged out in as an example. I did state that a ban request would be denied because you lagged out unintentionally but I guess the main point of what I was asking is whether a mod/admin would get a longer ban or a shorter/no ban if they broke the rules when compared with the general ban length a pubby would receive.Lynx wrote:I'm sorry that I lagged out this game, I was downloading hardcore bondage porn to give timmy on his birthday. @CurryMuncher You should keep in mind that even if the ban durations may not be the same as for pubs, staff members receive disciplinary actions behind the curtains. (also see here, last part after the edit: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=31638&p=137507#p137507).
