Think about the last 20 games of id you played. How many titans sieged your base for more than a minute without suiciding, dying or killing your base?
It seems like titans are either noob and die in 5 minutes or are pro and kill everyone in 15 minutes and are so fed they completely destroy any base.
What happened to the long siege games where a titan would drain your lumber and then finally break your base 5 mins before gp?
Back when I played foss more seriously I would siege a base for upwards of 20 minutes farming walls and trying to kill supporters while getting egg heals. It was a long drawn out battle and mistakes were taken advantage of. I barely ever see long siege games anymore.
Sieging is very fun to defend against for builders but requires some skill from the titan including mini micro. I don't know how to fix or promote sieging but I wish it happened more often and for longer.
/end rant
Why do titans not like to siege?
Re: Why do titans not like to siege?
If you are not retarded you should be able to get a base up before a pro titan is able to kill you, hence forcing him to siege.
Problem solved.

Re: Why do titans not like to siege?
That's not true at all. A good titan will kill the pubs and subsequently kill your lumber base. Leaving you with 3k lum and a tit with minis. You become the retard if you try to base with that.PLus wrote:If you are not retarded you should be able to get a base up before a pro titan is able to kill you, hence forcing him to siege.

Happens if I play you all the time. Random loc or some shit and you've already killed four pubs in 5 min and sent the first mini to my lumber base, leaving me with like 3k lum and no hope of basing.
The only way around this is op baser eb with 1-3 decent support(s) at euro.
Spoiler!

Re: Why do titans not like to siege?
iirc most bases are pretty cut and dry in pub games and you can tell if you're going to be able to seige it out pretty quickly.
A lot of titans go for max nuke so they don't really have the ability to seige as well as the time you spend not sieging can be spent farming lumber camps or nuking pizzlies.
tbh I like it better when titans just suicide rather than stall the game out 20 minutes 'seiging'.

Re: Why do titans not like to siege?
IMO gold to lumber and seeding totally trashed the lumber starving factor.
Re: Why do titans not like to siege?
It's hard to lumber starve with lumber feeding becoming so prevalent. I mean you could send a mini to camp the secret shop, but in some games you can't afford the luxury of sieging with one fewer mini.

Re: Why do titans not like to siege?
I like to siege. If you have been in any of my titan games, I'd be sieging any base that comes up early as long as I am capable of sieging it.
Titans just don't like losing. Feeding off noobs and camping the secret shop until 10 minutes until GP (Depending on how many bases there are) is a near-guaranteed way to win every game.

noob feed is nice. but what do you end up doing when you have 9 golders and 1 baser that just seeds and doesn't do anything until gold? some games its just not easy to handle that type of game

Spam wotw on that one "baser" early. Shove wands and wards up his ass just how they like it. Don't let him early base.iifaustii wrote:noob feed is nice. but what do you end up doing when you have 9 golders and 1 baser that just seeds and doesn't do anything until gold? some games its just not easy to handle that type of game
Or if this baser is good, then just feed off of mid walls and spam wotw/ward on anyone, research centres at mid (important), go to lumber bases then nuke then TP back (for more mana, attack damage and sometimes items -> Chimaera scout). (Or use ww, if TP CD)

agree. I don't see any titans using this strategy now. That used to be a legitimate strat and encouraged longer sieging. Should we get rid of g2l and lumber sharing?
Nuking is very effective against pubs, I guess thats what titans like doing more. Its easier and more effective which is lame.

No. Lumber feed = camp minion at secret shop with lvl 2 nuke.narbtit wrote:iifaustii wrote:IMO gold to lumber and seeding totally trashed the lumber starving factor.

Wut.
G2L / Lumber Trading has only been nerfed since the beginning of the game.
If titans are no longer sieging its certainly not due to the constant nerfs to G2L/Lumber trading.
Back in my day you could straight up trade your resources through F11(?) and buy hp tomes from merchants. You know how hard it is to kill a 2k hp builder?

Yes, being easier and more effective is most certainly the definition of lame.

That costs 2 minis =/ otherwise mound is also open.
