Post screens of changes you'd like to see on the terrain for 3.1.0 as well as opinions on other ideas. Use wc3map editor (

I don't understand, is this a new brand of trolling through confusion?
Need to catch up on my trolling art.

From your changes I'm pretty sure you're one of those people that manages to deprotect Island Defense and add all these crazy broken bases, trees everywhere and calls it like 3.2.1a SUPER VERSION!!!.
No offense.

I like all your suggestion and vote for them to be implemented except the first one. To be honest I like everything new that I haven't played 3000+ times, I feel like ID needs to update as much terrain as possible for it to feel as it once did.

I think that changes need to be more subtle, instead of outright changing the entire bases, you just need to change things that matter, such as entrances, number of trees, tower space, building space and nuke-safe zones.
These look nice, but imo drastic changes in terrain causes even more balancing issues that haven't been already solved.
As usual: Balance first, new shit later.

Why balance so hard? No one doesn't even play competitive anyways.

Because a balanced map promotes competitive game-play. If we are ever going to make DotA2 ID work, then we need to figure out how to balance before implementation. Hell, even DotA2 did that, and is doing it as we speak. Not all wc3dota heroes are ven out on DotA2 yet, with an exception of techies, who may or may not be implemented into dota2.
EDIT: Basically, the prioity for changes should be:
Bugfixes
Balancing
New shit
For every year of bugfixes, there should be at least 6 months of balances.
New shit should be only after all the top priority bugfixes and balances have been fixed, so that you don't get more shit to balance, and more bugs to fix.

Just posting ideas for bases that never get used, or when they do they are horribly nukable from all directions.
Honestly, these can be ignored until later versions. But, terrain is a huge part of island defense and as it stands there are only 3 locations that people constantly base in (Mid right, Top Right, Top left). It'd be nice if there were any other locations that people wanted to base in. By drastically changing something it will draw people to these areas.
Hell, let's change id into ID SNOW ver. We can call it Ver 8.9.3 ULTRA FANTASTICO

That's a good point. You can do that without drastically changing the terrain though.
Although I think the amount of un-nukable bases should be limited.

I could (or even you could post some ideas), the point is to get some ideas out there and discuss them.
And there's nothing wrong with drastic changes, makes the game more interesting and changing the terrain isn't all that difficult. It should be played around with and released (after this current versions release) as a beta where people can test it out and have it reverted and altered if it doesn't work.
All bases should have at least one spot to stand in where they won't be nuked from all 4 corners.

My main point is that we should be aiming towards simplistic changes that will balance the problems we are having right now without doing too much work. You could still balance a base without drastically impacting the cosmetic side of it just to make it seem "prettier". It just requires more work, and cosmetic work should come after balancing. Efficiency means we get more frequent updates. Also, with bigger terrain changes, balance issues will also increase.
Your point is implying terrain needs a cosmetic change to make the game more interesting is a good point, it's nice to see, but I wouldn't recommend it, because it is just overall harder to do, and should be implemented in much future versions. The terrain isn't ugly, so if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Unless you want to be the new terrain editor, then break a leg!

Though it might not be ugly it certainly is boring.

Imo, gameplay is more important in the sense of how exciting a game is. For example, DotA or LoL has similar terrain for the past few years, but gameplay is constantly being balanced/changed.
Changing terrain constantly does give a nice ring to it since it does provide variety and make it more interesting though, I don't doubt that, which is shown via this quote:
Your point is implying terrain needs a cosmetic change to make the game more interesting is a good point
The problem is that we don't have enough available staff to provide this constant change in scenery, since Carn shouldn't be have it as a priority right now. Also, why I brought up the matter of having a terrain editor.
