Re: island defense working for mac yet?
I haven't been in contact with anyone that has a Mac so it's been put on the back burner...
I'll build up a few test versions again and hopefully Mac people can help test them.

@drmagic69 @Bad
Hey guys. Both of you are using Snow Leopard right? I'll try to figure out how to fix it for Macs before releasing 0096a/7.

Re: island defense working for mac yet?
Let the map spam begin! Let's start with some basic tests. If none of these fail then it's an optimization issue (yay zz).
From most likely to crash to least likely:
MT1 = No doodads, no triggers, Vexorian's Compiler
MT2 = No doodads, no triggers, Codahar's compiler
MT3 = No doodads, no triggers, no units, Codahar's compiler
MT4 = No doodads, no triggers, no units, Vexorian's Compiler
MT5 = No doodads, no triggers, no units, Vexorian's Compiler, no custom models
MT6 = No doodads, no triggers, no units, Vexorian's Compiler, no custom models, no custom loadscreen
MT7 = No doodads, no triggers, no units, Vexorian's Compiler, no custom models, no custom loadscreen, no custom icons
MT8 = No doodads, no triggers, no units, Vexorian's Compiler, no custom models, no custom loadscreen, no custom icons, no custom minimap preview
@Bad if you have time now <3

Re: island defense working for mac yet?
MT1- Successful load, though in game didn’t start and screen remained black (I’m guessing this is because there were no triggers implemented?)
MT2- Same result
MT3- Same result
MT4- Same result
@Neco This is all I had time to check for at the moment (have to go to work). But it looks as if you've found the problem since there is no longer a crash, and the game DOES load

Re: island defense working for mac yet?
okay cool, you won't need to test the others.
The problem is either a trigger issue, a doodad issue (unheard of), or an optimization issue.
Thanks for your help.

Re: island defense working for mac yet?
This happened in one of my maps I was working on and also another map I used to play, the issue was a newly added icon that crashed when Mac users saw it. I was using Button Manager, and other icons from online. There are certain settings you must have for icons to be compatible with Mac, unfortunately I don't remember specifically, but yes for the maps I've worked on we have resolved the Mac issue, with Icons clearly being the reason.

Yeah, I've known about this for a long time and all of the icons are mac compatible. It's something to do with optimization I'm pretty sure.

All file paths use internal MPQ paths (the map has no access to the filesystem outside of this) so this shouldn't be a problem.

The suggestion was very much appreciated! There's not much documentation around compatibility issues. Thanks for trying to help.
