Tips to improve your gameplay (daily updated)!

Tip of the Day #3:

For Titan:
- You may want to turn automatic health bars off when doing a big siege as it becomes much easier to see builders amongst the chaos of effects and the bullet storm. The down side if you will have to hold down Alt to see health bars. But that shouldn't be a big problem.

For Builders:
- You can safely rewall without getting nuked using wall wallking techinques. (With Orc-style builders - which are ones that are inside their buildings, invulnerable, while building. Make sure you have 2-3 places you can place down a building on your way back from rewalling, preferably near each other to prevent ward blocking.

Tips from @SpiritBreaker :

For Titan:
- You may want to turn automatic health bars off when doing a big siege as it becomes much easier to see buildings amongst the chaos of effects and the bullet storm. The down side if you will have to hold down Alt to see health bars. But that shouldn't be a big problem.
- Look at the minimap when you make a kill, as the map is fully revealed. Try to find moving dots outside of bases (most likely Builders) to possibly
set-up another kill.
- When roaming the map in Wind Walk (WW), if you want to destroy some buildings, make sure you break WW out of Builders' sight. The easiest way to do this is to drop one of your items and attack it. You don't want the Builders to know for sure whether WW is on Cooldown (CD) or not.

For Builders:
- You can safely rewall without getting nuked using wall wallking techinques. (With Orc-style builders - which are ones that are inside their buildings - invulnerable - while building. Make sure you have 2-3 places you can place down a building, preferably near each other to prevent ward blocking.
- When you know someone is about to die, try to stop moving with your Builder if outside of base, to make it less likely that you're spotted on the minimap (movement naturally draws one's attention). Similarly, you may want to confuse the Titan by having workers moving randomly on the map when someone is about to die.
- As Demonologist (Demo), utilize your summons. You can use them to:
- Scout (Felhounds have slightly faster Movement Speed (MS) than Titans with Webbed Feet).
- Deny buildings (first damage buildings so they're at low health, then deny them when you know Titan is in the area).
- Block Titan's movement to help Builders escape.
- Arachnithids (the scorpion thingies) have a poisonous attack that reduces Titan's MS.
- The way Artificial Intelligence (AI) works in WC3 (Warcraft 3) is that a unit, without an issued order from the player, will automatically attack targets based on an internal priority system. Your summoned units have a higher priority than Builders. Abuse this when Titan is Teleporting (TPing) to the Gold Mound in the middle of the map (mid), to make sure that the Titan will attack one of your summons instead of that noob he didn't go back fast enough.

Tips from @Burn :

For Titan:
- Focus more on your Experience (XP) income, rather than on just denying Lumber Bases (LBs).

For Builders:
- You can Detonate Worker (Deto) to cancel debuffs on your Builder, such as Wand of the Wind (WotW) and Eye of the Ocean. (Not sure about Titan slow poison, Glac nuke slow and Bubo/Granit stun - gonna ask/test.)
- You can abuse Titan's full map vision when he kills someone, by cancelling/denying the buildings after the Titan makes a kill.

Also, you can make an ARC then cancel it before it finishes after the builder dies so that titan will go there to not see an ARC!

But yeah, the half a second of MH is actually a bug, only in 4.0.0. @Neco

But nice tips, especially the half a second MH part, not many titans know about it.

Ah, so it is a bug.

I thought something was fishy about it. Seemed too op.

But you are meant to know the locations of all buildings when you get a kill, right? Iirc that was in old ID too?

Here's some more tips:

Titan: A way of playing is to not aim for lumber bases for gold, but for EXP. You don't care about people's lumber income, but care more about your EXP income.

So basically just go behind a base, nuke, then TP. If lumber base is close to mid, use WW instead in fog. Always WW and use TP stick in fog, always make them think that WW is not on CD.

Builder: Deto Wand of the winds with worker detonation skill. Saves lives and escape abilities.

Nice tips, I only started realizing the thing about xp recently (1-2 games ago.. I've been grinding out games as titan to improve). Side note: Bubo is op.

Deto wotw is insane.. I'd love to play against people who do it. (inhouse hype?)

Decided to multi-post to separate the tips from general banter.

Since there seems to be interest in this, instead of spamming the forum with daily posts, I'll keep all the tips compiled in the first post. I'll try to shorten them down easier reading and less intimidating walls of text. I will also compile in others' tips on this thread.

I'll format it to make it look better later.

At this point I guess this should be moved to the Guides section?

PS: mfw forum parser uses white-space to break out from username after an at symbol. Can't have things like "@SpiritBreaker's" or "@SpiritBreaker:"
