even if the !ignore feature stops me from seeing these childrens useless flaming... should there not be any punishment for it?
I see a clear difference between telling someone they suck at a game and insulting their race/religion etc...
or shall we all spam slurs at each other until mods decide to care?
no punishment for flaming?

@GetBannedHeaux You could always report flamers. We might not ban them on that instant, but then we'd have record of the flaming. If they keep doing it, they will get banned.

Re: no punishment for flaming?
I did report. mods didn't seem to care... would rather sweep problem under the rug with !ignore feature...
asked second mod for their opinion and got same answer... was trying to see what community thinks.
should people using hate speech get bans or should we all just spam it at each other forever?
I thought as a society we have grown past that

Do no always report flamers. ENT only bans those who flame excessively: http://wiki.entgaming.net/index.php?title=EntGaming:Rules
Reporting flames for little and perhaps offending things will only create more unnecessary ban requests wasting both moderators' and reporter's time.
You are playing an online game. As it is the Internet, we expect some amount of flaming and shit talks. It is a natural phenomena. If you cannot be more mature or be ignorant or tolerate certain degree of flaming, that is not our issue.
Although I do understand why flaming is negative, we cannot ban everyone for flaming.
Re: no punishment for flaming?
Wish you'd have read what I said in the chat.
Ignore, if it continues, we can and most likely will ban them.
Otherwise, we're talking to a brick wall and you should stop wasting our time if you refuse to do as we ask and threaten to flame while using !ignore. Only makes you as bad as them.

Re: no punishment for flaming?
my point is that there is a difference between talking shit in an online game (which is always to be expected) and attacking someone's race or religion. like I have been saying the whole time... its ok if mods do not care about what I consider hate speech. It really is. I was just seeing if community felt the same way by posting it here as I was instructed to do in chat...

youre rude as fuck. calling me a troll for bringing up something that someone else in chat agreed with and believes shouldn't be tolerated. just because it doesn't concern you doesn't make me a troll.

Re: no punishment for flaming?
If you see me as rude, that is on you, but I am not the one ignoring sound advice. If you want someone to be banned for their behaviors, do as recommended and ignore, check the chat log once the game completes, and post a ban request if it continues.
I called you a troll after 15 minutes of saying the same thing over and over again, followed by you stating that you would start flaming because 'we do not care' when this could not be further than the truth.
No, it shouldn't be tolerated, however, because this is the INTERNET we can't ban everyone who flames without the ignore command being used properly, and if the flaming continues from there, for the what feels like the 100th time, REPORT THEM and the chances of them being banned increases 10x. If you choose to flame, those are your actions, and because there is proof in form of the chat from earlier today, we have more grounds to ban you if it does occurr and in excess. Flaming is flaming, and you should and could have used the ignore command properly once the flaming began, and chances are, he would have been banned. Using the ignore command does what you can, personally, to avoid conflict.
I am not rude. You refuse to listen, and are stubborn. That is your prerogative, and that is fine. But, what I say about the whole issue remains valid.

you are dismissive and rude. also ignorant if you do not see the difference in hate speech and flaming. I said ok 10 thousand times and u kept repeating yourself. I said it was ok and you kept on going. I said it was ok and you kept on going. I said it was ok and you kept on going. I said it was ok and kept on going. You see how stupid that is? No need to reply because your opinion means nothing to me.

Re: no punishment for flaming?
That is why you will get no where, and you never once actually acknowledged anything I said. Just kept repeating we dont care and that you would flame. (Also, if it was okay, it is pretty much easier to leave at that point instead of continuing to troll with the same statements of we don't care, you would flame too, now, and it was okay- which, quite obviously, it isn't.) But then again, I am so certain that you have never said things out of anger that were hateful in nature, so surely.. Eh, anyway.. Point is, avoid conflict by using ignore. Also, ignore does not work on forum, or in AJAX chat.
I am not dismissive, I am realistic. Again. Internet. Can't blame flamers without it being truly excessive, especially without an ignore function being completed. If you can't handle it, then you probably shouldn't play games that invoke rage-flames.
Larz also agreed w me, btw. But since you didnt use ignore properly, no action is taken.

Re: no punishment for flaming?
Generally, if the flaming doesn't stop after I warn them to stop and they continue, I will ban for 12hrs to 2days depending on history. So, true, if you're talking about Agreements, for 2.
But, I am advising him because if he had used ignore properly in the first place, and I reviewed the ban request, I would have banned for 12 hours.

Re: no punishment for flaming?
There are 4 steps:
1. Be temperamently treated. ( Use !ignore command).
2. Be reasonable and responsible in that moment ( Warn him - / !mute ).
3. Report him at forums for excessive flaming.
4. Ban him if your an (Ent Moderator or Admin).
how else to handle things like that.
