Game Moderators For DotA/LoD?

I wondered why I would never seem to see any mods ingame playing DotA or LoD games.

After doing a brief check of "Game Moderators" group here on the forums and cross-checking with stats, it seems as if just about all your game mods play non-DotA games exclusively.

Is ENT centered around TD and NWU type games? Am I wasting my time talking about DotA and LoD so much when ENT is meant mainly for non-DotA maps?

NWU is a variant of DotA and therefore they have similar mechanics, ideology, game thought and gameplay. NWU also has the exact same items as DotA. The only thing its missing is jungling.

Yes, I do apologize for incorrectly placing this. Did not intend to put it in Suggestions (simple mistake from not paying attention). Feel free to move or delete--I really don't care which.

I notice you are both moderators of some sort (not forums mods I see) and clearly members of some standing; is your only input on my observation/question that the thread is in the wrong place? The OP objective was to have people like you respond about this subject.

I'm not trying to be sarcastic or hostile, nor was the OP of malicious/troll intent. I'm honestly just curious if I'm barking up the wrong tree here, as it took me long enough to realize it.

I didn't have a suggestion originally (was intended to be a question), but since you asked, I suppose the obvious conclusion is that when mentioning the lack of DotA game mods, a suggestion could be to make some? Unless of course it's not viewed as important enough to matter (or there is a lack of viable candidates), which again, was the whole point of the OP.

Um...yes, I'm aware of what NWU is. I'm not clear on why you posted that; I'm not a "dota hardcore fan/hater of anything else" by any means, nor was I bashing any other game, least of all NWU. If you're assuming I was trying to judge other custom maps vs. DotA in any way, allow me to dispel that illusion. It's a long shot between "does the management even play and care about dota" and "omg nwu sux cuz its not dota".

Again, I'm trying to determine if I'm wasting my time by posting about DotA on these forums. The likeness between DotA and NWU is irrelevent because you're playing NWU, not DotA, which is the observation/question I'm making/asking.

You posted this in the suggestions forum so I was assuming this was meant to be a suggestion of some sort. If this is not a suggestion but a discussion then this thread should be moved to General Discussion.

In answering your question: Ent does not actively recruit moderators- instead, all players have the option of applying for a game moderator position.

I'm not attempting to become a moderator in a round-about manner (e.g. "dota needs more mods cough cough"). The moderator application procedure is well-placed on the forums here to garner the attention of anyone wishing to do so.

After browsing through the applications threads, I see that I could well have answered my own question.
