Is Warcraft 3 community dead?

So, I thought about this a long time and I think, that Warcraft 3 is NOT DEAD. Idk about the Battle.net, because I don't play there very often but Garena is still ALIVE and many people still play there. I don't play DOTA, which most of people play. I play the Custom games like Battle for Middle Earth, sometimes TD, Castle Builder, World War maps and stuff. In WAR3 you can play almost anything. So I think, that the community is pretty much still alive and active, creating new maps and stuff. What is your opinion on this?
Do you still play Warcraft 3?

My opinion. Is it is absolutely not dead, as I can see the community is very active and I've managed to get so many games of whatever it is in the past 2 months since I've been back from a six year break. Whether it be may be a few minutes or seconds full house games are very frequent all the time, atleast for me. Many people I feel would refer to it as "dead" only because they are over expressing how Wc3 Might not be as active as it once was. but yeah idk, That's just my opinion

Yeah, I think it is not dead too, because on Garena, there are still a lot of good games. And I am not counting DOTA, which is still massively played. Thanks for opinion.

If it wasn't for cross-server hosting, then yes, Warcraft III would be dead.

I remember when Dota first came out in 2005 or 2006. The players on there were so bad, and i don't mean that they lacked capability to play, no it was their ridiculousness that really ruined the game right off the bat. and don't get me wrong, dota is a neat game, but the attitude ppl had on there was just awful. people were so intolerant and impatient, and while spamming constantly "LEAVERS = BAN" made sense, that was one of the things that really killed dota for me. but I could deal with "LEAVERS = BAN" mentality, it was their inability to wait for someone to download the map, which looking at how it is now with the incredible lacking of players, where we wait 5,10,15 minutes to play a game now. We would love to have the flood of players we once had, anyways DOTA would have been much better if the players themselves weren't so childish.

I'm as surprised as anyone to see how thriving the community still is. I hadn't played WCIII in at least 7 years and happened upon my disks while doing some cleaning last week and figured "What the hell" and now I'm on almost daily, lol.

I as well don't play DotA, I'm more into hero arena maps, though I haven't seen any hosted other than the Angel Arena ones and Anime ones. If anyone has any good recommendations on hero arena maps, please let me know.

Depends on what you're looking for in hero arena.
If you're looking for bat shit crazy ffa chaos random arena would be up your ally.
Aim Wars is kind of cool map although I'm not too sure if I'd lable it as a hero arena. Still its damn good map.
Wow arena is pretty decent.
Custom Hero Arena is pretty cool in the way you can choose your own hero and skills.

Those are just a couple off the top of my head I'd recommend grabbing a friend or 2 and just screwing around with those maps.
