I've been used to play carries a lot, but my buddy told me to try out support for once and I kinda felt in love with it!
Any recommendation heroes that is good and excel at support throughout the whole games without dependable on items.

Meepo, slark, PA, LC are your best choises. You will support your team by carrying them to victory.

Re: Any recommendation support heroes?
Well, the best supports, in my opinion, are omni, dazzle and wisp. Their skills are usefull from the first second of the game, until the very last.
Now, of course, you can turn almost any int hero in a support. Just find a good carry to support, otherwise, it's all a waste.

Re: Any recommendation support heroes?
If I had to pick out of the 3 above I'd go with dazzle to be honest. Omni is fun and all but my experiences with dazzle are no doubt the best.
I'd also like to throw Lion into the support mix. I see people mainly go some sort of carry build with him (agha, sny, skadi etc.) but I like to use him as an offensive-type support. 2 stuns, mana drain and a long range dagon-like ulti, can't beat it.

Re: Any recommendation support heroes?
Interesting, Lion is probably the best support and non-item dependable that I've seen so far.
That 2.5 seconds hex is so useful for a level one and I can make out impale without any problem; maximizing damage for team and let the carry go for the kills.
I was wondering, should I just skip agh entirely and go for rod of atos? That extra slow is pretty useful to slow down enemies' carries and supports.
I feel like AGH is a waste of gold and the upgrading ultimate is kinda pointless for extra damage when other items could be use to enhance team's performance.

Re: Any recommendation support heroes?
dazzle/omni/necrolyte - healers (dazzle and omni both have the ability to keep others alive longer)
lina/lion/enigma: stunners and useful ultis (especially enigma) - may need blink to reach full effectiveness
witch doctor - very useful stun/damage/ amplify damage - may need whirlwind
wisp - speed/stun/travel ulti
rhasta - sheep/ good for towers/holding units down
crystal maidain - ice stun/slow/strong ulti ( may need bkb )
A support can also be any intel/carry/tank that stuns or takes damage for the main carry. Its more of a style of playing rather then a certain hero. Although, some heroes like the ones i highlighted might fit that role much easier than others.
As for the dependencies on items.... almost all of dota is based on the ability to farm quickly and get the correct items for each hero and for each circumstance (survival/support/damage/enemy delay/speed).
Anyways, best of luck on training with support heroes, it wont be easy, but once you get the hang of it, its really fun!!!.

Re: Any recommendation support heroes?
I've tried out lina as a support. I felt like she is a carry rather than a support.
Dazzle and omini seem pretty cool. I rushed forcestaff and manage to save a lot of teammates.

I tried out Earth Spirit, it's so hard to do the ping-pong combo. The rock moves too fast lol
It's also hilarious to stack up/reset debuff the ultimate with veil lol. Too much damage.
What do you usually max out first for earth spirit?
What item should I utilize if I went support?
Can ES carry?

Re: Any recommendation support heroes?
-I would suggest CM (Rylai). Her aura is amazing so are her other skills for ganking. Not much item dependent. You basically just need bkb and loth.
just make sure to have enough mana for her ult which costs alot and if you know how to let your team tank, you should be fine.
-Treant is a good support as well. Good for ganking with his slow and ult, can put eyes every where and can protect with his shield. Mana boots-SR then you're good.
-Furion can teleport every where making him easy to ward the place and make his global ulti even better. Also can assist gank 24/7. Although I usually pick him to counter techies with perma pushing strategy (book 3, mael, BoT, Gem) or to carry with MoM + Orchid, a good support build would be to rush sheep and buy tons and tons of wards for ganks.
If i want to support, I always pick one of them.
