Yes, Dotacash is down for good. I was a GM at DotaCash. The odd thing, I have idea why DC went down. Jason (DC owner) never made any announcements that he would be closing the league and none of the staff seemed to know anything about it either. We just went to the URL one day and *poof* it was gone.
DotaCash spent most of it's life span trying to fix features that were never 100% working. Between that and the release of Dota2 on Valve, perhaps Jason just didn't feel there was any need to continue with his Dota1 league. Still, I think he should have at least put a notice so that the community could have said their goodbyes and perhaps made arrangements to stay connected in other MOBA communities.
My guess is, the server went down unexpectedly (as it often did) and Jason had planned to bring it back up as usual, but due to his busy schedule it just kept getting put off more and more until eventually he said "aww screw it".

Dotacash is gone due to Forum Moderator, i cant remind his nickname he was fat american-chinesse guy. Since he ban the possibility to register to anyone and removed 60% of accounts. Sharozow or smth like that.

in all seriousness, gone because there were server issues that i did not have time nor the energy to deal with.
And, it was time to move on.
soz for not providing notice, but it was like this: one day i suddenly asked myself "wtf am i doing?" and then it was over.

wow sounds terrible
even their issues some problem it should not cause that way.
