One of the many things that ruined dota for me, was how players insisted Dota had to be downloaded from a web page. Am I correct in discovering that there are actual Bots that refuse to allow players to download the map from other players via waiting to start? I mean this could just as easily be a glitch or fluke, but if this is an actual thing someone has programmed, shame on you, It's rather rare that I decided to give Dota a chance, thinking that maybe just maybe the players finally grew up, but in this day and age when players are scarce, people are still applying this none sense rule? shame on you. I have no respect for that. band together, drop the childishness and save the battle.net. otherwise, it all goes down... because of you

is it fair that all the dota players wait for someone to download the game who has never played it before? not only can downloading take anywhere from 10seconds to 10minutes but after waiting for you to download we will get a completely dumbfounded player who in almost all cases will ruin the game. not to mention downloading from www.getdota.com seems to be much faster then downloading from a bot and wasting everyone's time. god forbid after you download it from the website you play on solo player and actually learn the game instead of ruining the game for the rest of us.

http://www.getdota.com - it's quicker than downloading on wc3 anyways.
People don't want to wait for 10 mins while people with bad internet connection download.
Don't see why it's so big of a deal to you.

Plus, getdota is the official website. That way you avoid downloading some crap dota version.

Download or not in lobby is the not issue. The problem is when people download with super imba slow speed or are stuck while downloading and refuse to leave the lobby holding the game from starting.

If the download option is disabled, you have three options:

1) download the map from another bot that hosts dota. ex. Dotavoid bots let downloads.
2) download the map from our "download only" bot named [ENT] Download DotA 6.80c #1
3) download the official map from http://www.getdota.com and put the file in ur wc3 folder
