Re: Current status of LIHL
Certainly I am not one of the top players, but I think I learn a lot here and already improved and hope I don't get unvouched as well, if so, have fun in your super elite league
I only came to lihl last season basically, so I can only speak of the last few months. But my impression considering behaviour and manners is just awesome. People are friendly, wait for others, give advice, I rarely see flaming or raging in games. No comparison to any pub game. I can imagine it has been much worse so if someone quits because of this, maybe you should relax a little bit.
Then I think some people take things too seriously and feel personally offended from bagatelles. How often do I see people being angry about others because they reported their dc pen (ingame)... this is imo just plain stupid to blame someone for reporting this. And if you don't like it, don't play here, everybody knows there are dc pens and if you can't fix your internet get Gproxy and if you still drop out don't play if you have problems with getting DC pens.
This then goes on with taking ingame issues too serious as well. How much drama was there in the forum in the last months because in one game someone didn't heal or didn't see someone was afk or whatever? This happens, it sucks, but pls don't make huge drama out of it and go on. The next day you already forgot about it and it's rarely happening. It's not like someone does this on purpose and if so, also in a repeating way, there would be consequences.
Considering quality in lihl, well, I dunno how it was before, so I cannot really talk about it, but this came up multipled times now.
From what my impression is, there are two ways:
1. More quality --> less players --> less games and activity
2. Broader spectrum of players --> More games and activity
And I think lately lihl suffered from inactivity a bit (from what I heard) so maybe one had to open up a bit and let more players in. Lihl doesn't work with 20 elite players in it...
But, I think if you want to improve the quality, then the communication has to be increased! The mods don't observe all games so their feedback has to come from the players, otherwise they cannot get the full picture imo. I have never seen a single serious thread (Not a thread where an unvouched is asked because someone didn't heal for ONCE...) here from anyone saying that someone should be unvouched because he is not good enough. And now, people complain and it sounds like the whole league plays like shit except 5 players. How are the mods supposed to know? Certainly not from the 3 games you post in the application, which are probably good games anyhow... So, if you want to increase quality, I would make trial periods longer, and don't let a mod decide alone whether he/she gets fully vouched or no. Always ask for feedback and impressions (by PM is fine I think, so people are more honest) and then make a decision based on what the community thinks. This happens from time to time, but not always.
Summarized: Talk! if no one complains or says a word, nothing will change, like aRt)Y already said. Don't just ask for unvouch and leave and nobody knows why, this doesn't help anyone.
One thing I cannot understand for example, is the handling of obvious disrespectful behaviour. Sorry to bring this up here Tin, but since it just recently happened it came to my mind, but similar cases happened in the past as well. What you did with your going on mumble, turning bluetooth off although you know it very likely crashed your wc3, is just like shitting on everybody's head. Then you report your DC pen and think this case is done but imo you purely don't get the point. Because I'm pretty sure none of your ingame mates cares about the 3 elo they get now, but more about how you disrespect their time and this would totally piss me off if I was ingame and should result in a short ban imo. The fact that it doesn't, goes back to the Mods, which often don't blame such obvious disrespectful behaviour "because there is no rule for this"(?). (to the Mods: Don't feel offended, I think you do a great job here doing all this in your spare time etc pp, I highly appreciate that. Doesn't mean I cannot criticize something )
Okay, those were my pretty long 2cents... I hope all the recent unvouched players come back, because they surely are important for the league and I always liked playing with you

edit: okay, Diably just made a post which pretty much sums up my feeling

Re: Current status of LIHL
In regards to people getting the full vouch. Just pull up their last 5 trial lihl games and ask everyone who was their team mate to give you feedback. Use that feedback in your assessment of whether they should be granted lihl member status. Lihl is also the best place to learn, I was so fucking shit when I joined, I was I think by far the worst player to ever join, but within a few games I was getting the hang of it. I see people always complaining about skill and saying "This is LIHL we shouldn't have to help anyone" Fine, don't help anyone, but then you wont have people improve and also you wont have a player pool to get lihl games going. So really if you want an active skilled league, you're just going to have to help people a bit. If someone really doesn't improve at all then they shouldn't be here. Another example I would give is DoDoYumYum, she was probably the worst Pub player I ever played with, now after joining LIHL she is a very solid player, and that happened in no time at all.

Re: Current status of LIHL
I am not that active because after playing games with certain people who rage or are just rude it takes the fun out of it. I find other games to be more fun now days. I am not that great of a player and certainly not near the top of the league. I think players for the most part are fine to me but attitude / just being disrespectful or doing disrespectful things is what bugs me about the league. Just my 2 cents :p
Re: Current status of LIHL
I totally share the Juba feelings. If you wanna have fun and improve you need leaders. I think there are 3 kind of leader :
-Friendly one, getting legitimity cose he got the ability to gather ppl around him and his decision
-Skilled one, everyone know he is the best to do the leader job
-Self proclaimled one, obviously lacking of legitimity. Most of those leaders are agressive, disrepectful and killing the fun.
Lastly we lack the 2 first category.

I totally agree with this, if you want to be a leader, making calls should not be the only thing. It is very important that the advices are given on a positive atmosphere instead of forcing someone to do something by telling him how noob he is. Really...
I know some of top players (or that i consider very good) that have serious problems with new vouched people, I had those problems with them at start and now I have not anymore... Still people like @Donbola or @Fogey (to give some examples) could share their knowledge on a different way with a much better outcome.
Then we have some new vouches as @Beastman or @Stiff_Maister or @Fisteur (i mean new from last season) that like too much to discuss (i have nothing vs u guys, u always been nive to me), specially i have seen really bad words written by beastman, plz guys, knowing you are new here, you should swallow your ego a bit and accept that other ppl knows more than us, I know sometimes is hard to shut up, but you just can act with more style and prove your worth without fighting every single call or every single comment on the builds.
Appart of all, respecting myself, when i came Lihl i considered myself as a real top player, well, I was wrong, there is still a lot to learn, but i think i have improved. The key is always to listen politely and say the things clear when you are "attacked" instead of trying to fight defending a dead position. In general i think that skill lvl is ok, just need to respect more each other to keep it raising (pros and noobs)
BR to all

Re: Current status of LIHL
i can understand some high skilled players rage when i hard tk but... how can lihl stay alive if we don't have a route for new comers to learn ??
Maybe we could hae a kind of rule like 1 day unvouch when hard tK reported by more than 3 players ? After some hard tk not bad to go back for few games on 1200+ to review basics ?
The most important is maybe to behave as a team and improve skills of everyone in order to have more and more very nice games.

Re: Current status of LIHL
I thought I did. Lol there's only one person I've gotten into it with in lihl, but I won't mention names. I'm friendly and definitely don't flame so I'm not sire what you're referring to. I'm still learning so I know not to argue

Re: Current status of LIHL
Well might be coincidence that i was in the only game that you have argued. Tho u called noob to a lihl member since season 3, even u asked him if he was noob to lihl and also told him that he didnt belong to lihl and that he was noob. We are talking about machete SONY, no? or was it with Tastay? Or maybe u fought both? XD

Haha Sony,, we're friends now. That's not what I said to him, I did however get defensive because I'm still learning who people are, it was our first game together, but that was a rare instance. Anyway I'm everyone's friend happy gaming
Re: Current status of LIHL
Put ego aside to judge urself on a unbiased way; dont hesitate to ask any questions to ur team ; dont forget this is a game.
About suicide build, if u guys find a way to play with shitty towers without suicide and be usefull , i would be glad to know how plz.

Re: Current status of LIHL
too much qq. too much moderating. shit, why are there bans for attitude issues? unless that attitude is leading to tk, man-up. if it does lead to tk, just ban.
why are there no unvouch criteria every season? no way to weed the worse players? just vouched, you're in forever unless there's a monstrous rage-thread against you and a million tk reports.
also, @bugatti_veyron who quoted me before... you've been commenting on this with what like 100 games in the last year? and like 400 games total? too bothersome to check the wiki, but the amount of games is rather pitiful when juxtaposed with the attitude towards a commenter who hasn't played in what, a month...

Why aren't all members high-skilled or well-respected?
Isn't LIHL the meeting place for the best players?
And before someone asks what guy posts in your section, not playing your game, just my personal point of view.
