Basic Guidelines for Newly Vouched Players
Posted: Mon Feb 23, 2015 7:57 pm
Hello.
I will be writing down the guidelines for newly vouched players, or for those who want to apply for LIHL, with the purpose to get a better knowledge about LIHL games.
This guide is not about how to properly place your towers since players could have different building styles. Instead, I will give you an insight in the hidden customs that the majority of LIHL players follow which you, obviously, can not know before having played several games of LIHL.

- Healing
- The player who is controlling king use heal at last. For example, suppose that you're teal on team West. If the red is controlling the king, the heal should be Blue - Teal (you) - Purple - Red.
- Try to use heal at 20~30% when king's hp is nearly full. There could be exceptions when king's HP is below 10000, but usually most of LIHL games king's HP should be nearly full when you have to heal at level 7 or after 7. Don't try to wait until king is nearly death to scare other players since the heal only heals the king 10000 hp. I think the majority of players who don't play LIHL should know this as well, but I feel sad that some newly vouched LIHL players do mistakes sometime.
- Communication
- Try to communicate shortly at least that how you will gonna play - full yolo, Semi, or Holding with staying low. LIHL games are much different than public games usually, and there are a variety of play styles with same tower. And 1 player's failure could effect much more than you think since majority of LIHL players play better than standard. Please try to communicate how you will gonna play at least first since they cannot estimate your skills at first in LIHL. ELO is not everything in LTD as you know, but it is hard to get ELO in LIHL compared to public games due to extraordinary bot system to make even game. And if you're new to LIHL, you should better follow what other senior players told you to do so, since their sayings might be more probable than your assumption.
- King is usually taken by players who are seniors rather than newly vouched players. There could be exceptions. However, some players don't feel good when newly vouched players take king without any communication. If you think you're good enough to take king, try to appeal that you have good control, and players might let you king.
- Sending
- In LIHL you will face many of games finished by Double Demon, and there would be game you need to send as fast as you can, so you can make second demon in time. Since LIHL players barely send marker like public games, so I will give you my tip which I using.
- Tip: Try to send after numbers of West Alive,East Alive pop up. You will know that there is delay that incomes go after round starts. ( which is making level 15 demon+kraken+(warlocks) send possible ) If you send so fast, demon could go alone prior level which you didn't want to send.
- Level 15: Don't try to mix up small auras such as furbolg, commander. I don't know this is 100% true fact, but majority of LIHL players believe that small sending auras cause split in demon at lvl 15. Personally, I do think small auras have chance to split the demon also. I saw many newly vouched players make this minor mistake at this level, so try to keep that in mind.
- Open-Minded
- Try to be open-minded about advice from other LIHL players at first. I know you're good enough to be vouched to play at LIHL, but some LIHL players might have different opinions about playing game. When you're first to play LIHL and you're not sure how to play uncommon towers, don't hesitate to ask them for advice. Your stand alone playing could be seen as bad or team kill so you could have chance to be blamed. I know nobody feel good when they got blamed, but try to catch advice as much as you can when you're adapting to league since they won't give bad advice usually.
- GProxy and Draw Rule
- If your internet connection is not stable sometimes, I would really recommend you to download and install GProxy. You have chance to get DC Penalty which is not existing on public games.
- Majority of newly vouched players don't know exactly about rules. I do really recommend read at least once before you play. Nevertheless, I think majority of newly vouched players don't go to read before they have some problems.
- I would like to comment especially on Draw rule since it is mandatory to do on LIHL.
