Good evening ladies and gentlemen
Since it is very tedious to whisper to all LIHL players individually (in order to gather the players to start a game), I thought that it might be helpful to install a command on the LIHL channel-bot which allows the LIHL players to send a message to all the other active LIHL players simultaneously.
So it would more or less look like that:
!whisper We need +1 for a 3on3, anyone?
and it shows that:
[Psyclone] wrote via LIHL-ENT: [We need +1 for a 3on3, anyone?]
What do you think about it?
Cheers Psyclone

Re: Suggestion
This is a good idea! However, here are some counter arguments:
1. May cause unwanted spam for players
2. May cause an overload on the bots (maybe crash the bots?)
I do like the idea, let's see what others have to say about it before we ask uakf.b if he can program it and if the bots would get overloaded from people spamming this function.
My worry is that if 4 players all try to mass PM the active players at the same time that it would overload the bots with commands.

Re: Suggestion
Your counter arguments are invalid imo iight, as:
1. there is no defence against spamming. The collective message is a feature, and therefore in the players interest not to abuse it.
2. If the players in the lobby just agree who should do the collective msg, this situation will never occur.

Re: Suggestion
1. I bring this up because players already have the ability to be notified when a game is near being filled. You can type !notify x where x = the number of players singed that you wish to be notified at. For example, if you type !notify 3 in the chat room then you will get a PM from the bot as soon as 3 ppl are signed (no matter where you are; in game or in a diff chat room). So it would already in effect be telling you "we have 3 players, we are 1 short of a 2v2". This is already available whereas players have the option to "opt into gettin PMs for nearly full games". I do not see this function being used much which leads me to believe either a) players are not aware of the function or b) players do not want PMs telling them that there are LIHL games waiting to start.
2. This is a uakf.b question. I'm not sure what load a "mass PM" feature would do to the bots. I am only speculating that it MIGHT crash or overload them. It might also be extremely stable and cause no issues. Only uakf.b can tell us this.

Re: Suggestion
First, there's delay for commands (since you can't send that many messages all at once), by the time all the players receive the message the game probably will have already started. It'd be more effective to use !active and then whisper players who you see online and think might want to play.
Second, if someone actually wanted to know when game was close to starting, they could just use the !notify command.
