Observer spot

After the discussion of observer spots, a new suggestion arose that observer spots should be 'observer' instead of 'referee'.
The difference is that 'referee' can type in all chat and whisper during observing, 'observers' can only watch the game, not interact with others.

I voted to keep refs, mostly because it would make my job as moderator easier when doing SS tests(where I am present for them 99.9% of the time).
I am not against changing it to observers only though, granted the poll shows that is what the community wants. If it does end up changing, I hope it will reduce some of the worry people have over "ghosting" going forward

I would want either fully working obs spots (that is referees) or none at all. So I voted referee

I also voted for referee btw, after giving it second thoughts, I can see where whispering, talking in all-chat would be much better. (Just thinking of when people ask you if you want to play next game and you need more info, whispering !players to the bot et cetera)

Changing it to "observer" would not reduce any ghost-capacity. Since the only guys (or ladys) which would do smth like this do know each other good enough to have connection via skype/ts/mumble/facebook ... .
So yes, if there is such a spot, just let it be referee.

There was a post regarding this earlier this year I believe (or late last year), I don't think the mindset has changed that much from then.

there is no difference as players are obviously using mumble and stuff, so it doesnt matter ,might aswell keep it as it is

Seems like there is an overwhelming number of people wanting to keep the current referee option (15 to 1 as of now), it will not be changed.
