Banned for no reason

Postby Lycanthrowup » Tue Feb 25, 2014 8:20 pm

Warcraft III username: Lycanthrowup
Realm: US East
Situation: Banned for no reason
Why you should be unbanned: I was apart of a game this morning where a player on the other team was afk at their fountain. A player on that team "Smurf" something requested that we all votekick him because was clearly afk. This was true. The vote ended up not passing because players on the other team (my team) did not !yes it.

This ended up ruining the other team's chances at having a fair fight and they ended up losing. Towards the end of the game this "smurf" player threatened to give out 2 days bans to all the people who didn't vote. As he said this I made sure to be clear that I voted to boot that afk'd player.

So here I am, very pissed off because I was banned for no reason at all. Whoever gave out this ban should be talked to because it is clearly an abuse of power to do something like this when I clearly did nothing wrong.

I have never been banned for inappropriate behavior on any account ever. And this is what I get? As you can see I'm clearly mad.

You were banned for refusing to votekick somebody who was afk.

Unless @aqf has anything to say, I'm denying this.

This is not fair at all. So from now on I'm forced to save replays just to prove a point? Every time someone threatens to ban people I should just save replays from now on? I have no proof myself and didn't save the replay because you guys do a great job keeping people who ruin dota games in order. So why would I have to worry if I know you do a great job? Clearly not in this case. You can hate me for complaining and going on, but I wouldn't come on here and go on a rant like this if I wasn't sure of what went on this morning. If Aqf reads this, I was the huskar on the other team. I VOTED !YES. You were bone fletcher. I remember that game very clearly.

The topic is here posted by Aqf himself:

viewtopic.php?f=24&t=25781&p=115172#p115172

"(16:08 / All) Lycanthrowup: A votekick against player [linar] has been started by player [smurf01]. 7 votes are needed within 60 seconds to pass.
(17:03 / All) smurf01: linar is afk 1.351 min
(18:57 / All) Lycanthrowup: A votekick against player [linar] has been started by player [smurf01]. 7 votes are needed within 60 seconds to pass."

Notice his proof at the bottom of his post? Where are any of the other players votes? Hes just showing the time he requested the kick in the game.

Aqf, I am merely trying to fight for my right to play on your servers. Please try and respect that.

And if you look closely, everybody who didn't vote were banned as well.

Of course I see that, none of them said a word while that player was ruining the game.

I voted to kick and because I didn't vote the second time I get banned? When he tried to kick for the afking I didn't vote because I knew it was hopeless at that point. No one was voting on my team and that game was almost over at that point anyway.

Listen, I understand you want to support another mod but there is nothing that can be done here? I clearly care and me trying to prove a point is doing nothing?

And doesn't my record with this server indicate anything to you guys? There is no pattern of banning because of incidents like this.

Actually, I'm trying to be a third party here. I don't play dota, but from what I see is one person grieving as an AFKer, and a group of people who were banned for not voting to kick the AFKer. Then I see your ban appeal, with you stating that you did vote for the AFKer, where there's no evidence supporting your claim (essentially lying about the ban). If you had said that the first time around, I would have some sympathy for you, but I don't.

There's also an edit button. I suggest you start using it.

The point is that at one point in the game when there was a vote to kick a player for ruining a game I voted to remove that player as soon as there was mention of foul play. It doesn't matter if it was for the afking later on in the game because at that point it was obvious my team didn't care and the game was over.

For thinking I am some story teller is clearly a mistake. Obviously I was wrong at what I mentioned above and don't really care to be honest. So I mixed up the moment when I voted "!yes" in a game. I VOTED AS SOON AS THERE WAS FOUL PLAY. This is unfair. I should be able to defend my stance on a game that went on. I'm getting tired of forum posting. Let me talk to someone directly to really let my voice be heard.

The fact of the matter is, I can't do anything about it. I have no proof. You can sit there and think I'm a liar. I'll sit here thinking about all the times I stuck up for ENT and regret every one of them.

P.S I could care less about an edit button when I'm pissed off.

@Lycanthrowup Just because you didn't care to votekick (and still don't) doesn't mean you deserve to be unbanned. This guy was afk until kickafk and the situation was clearly communicated to you. You had two chances to votekick, and you didn't.

You could type -afk and -ma to know what is happening and if you did you would see the guy who was being votekicked for being afk was lvl 7 and afk for more than 1.5 min. Additionally, I told you he was afk grieving, and still no response.

The proof is in the chat log, which you can review yourself. Think about what's been said, and serve out the remainder of your ban. I hope you will understand the votekick rules a little better and try to be fair in the future.
