Why you should be unbanned:

There's not much to say. My friend introduced me to a maphack, I got excited for the advantage, and I used it. I got caught and now I regret it, kind of like Lance Armstrong on steroids. However, I can assure you that I'm not that type of player nor do I aspire to be that type of player. I realize what I was doing was wrong. I gave myself an illegal and unfair advantage, i.e. cheating. I don't want to be a cheat. I want to play DotA as an honest person once more. It's been a few months since my ban and one of my best friends recently bought Warcraft 3 and I would love it if I could play DotA with him. ENT is my favorite bot due to its competitiveness, fairness, and its unmatched ability to keep stats.

So is there a particular reason I should be unbanned? Unfortunately, I cannot say there is. All I can say is that I hope you guys would give me another chance. I can be a fair DotA player and I will strive on being as honest as I could be from now on.

TL;DR: Please give me another chance and I will not disappoint. I will never use maphack again.

Few month? You trained yourself using maphack on an other bot ? So now you know how to use it without being catch? Few month was enough right? If you kill someone, will people will agree to let you free cause ''I've learn from my move''.. You've learn how to kill wihtout being caught.. Not safe. So : no, you lost our trust. For me, it's denied, maphack is not forgiven. It's killing the pleasure of a game. Sorry if I go ''rude'' but, a years is a years, you're lucky, on cash, it's perma banned. Take the years to think about what you've made.

I didn't train myself to use maphack on another bot. I don't even know what that means. I'm not a computer wiz, unfortunately, I graduated with a degree in English . I've been looking hard for a job recently, so I haven't really had a chance to play. I know it's difficult to believe me because I did something wrong and once someone does something wrong, it's hard/almost impossible to gain their trust.

But I swear to God and all things holy that I will never in my life touch maphack ever again. I just really want to play with my friend once more. I don't want to wait another year to play DotA with my friend; we may not even be friends anymore at that point!

I'm coming across as sincere as I can possibly be; I didn't come here making excuses about how my brother was using my account or that my friend installed maphack when I wasn't looking. I came here with full honesty. That has to count for something, right?

Is there anyway I can prove that I will never use it again? If you want to know, the thing I used was called FHack. I promise to stay away from that garbage and never look at it again once more.

Thank you again mods, I really hope you guys can have mercy on me. I'm overall an honest and caring individual, and I made a stupid mistake. It happens to people in life. I wish I could go back and never use that goddamn maphack, but unfortunately the world doesn't work that way.

Additionally, you guys did the right thing banning someone like me, who used maphack. I don't deny that. It's integral to keeping the community strong, competitive, and most importantly, fair for everyone. I'm just asking for a last chance, that's all. I promise that I will keep true to my word and only try to strengthen, not tarnish the reputation that you have built in your vision.

Also, I apologize, but comparing this to killing someone is not a proper analogy. If someone kills another person, that person did irreparable harm to not only the victim, but the victim's family and friends, harm that will last forever. I doubt the people who played against me that one game are still suffering and in pain. The only person truly affected by this instance of maphacking, at this current moment, is me. That's not to say that what I did wasn't wrong, but that it's unfair to compare this case to murder. Life is undeniably short and it saddens me at times; if you could find a way to let me play DotA again, I would be forever grateful.

Im sorry but Maphackers ruin the game so much and they are in almost every game, They know they arent meant to be using it or maybe we should make a new host bot for everyone with fog off so there is a level playing field.

They make the effort to go and seek out and download maphack purely for the reason to not die or kill more people in a dota game, And now that they are getting caught they have the nerve to say "OK im so sorry and i wont use it again" ??

Maybe they never shouldve used it in the first place and why does it take someone get caught and banned for a year to make them stop maphacking.

If we reduce or remove a maphackers ban then why are we even bothering banning someone for a week for killing items or afk griefing ? May aswel just say to them "You know you shouldnt but what the hell, Ill only ban you if you do it another 4 times" , But if you appeal that ban ill let you off.

Rules are rules for a reason.

I did, and Im sticking to my view on it, Thats my own personal opinion on maphacking and i would never give them a second chance.

3 guys that ive gamed with from the ENT channel east ive banned for maphacking after catching them ingame, I dont care who they are how much they plead with me to forget it or just unban them, Im not here to be corrupted by someone's guilt that they cant play a game because they broke the rules knownly. And how stupid will it make us look to unban them and then they just keep on hacking again but have got better at hiding it !!!

I fully agree that map hackers should be banned and should remain banned. Just because you say you have "learned your lesson," there is no evidence that it will not happen again. However, maphacking does take the fun out of games and if winning is that important to you, maybe you should try to get better and win with integrity. Resorting to mhing should be a ban of at least a year, it is not something to be tolerated. How would you feel if you lost your first game to someone map hacking? I've experienced this, it is not pleasant and there is no need for it.

Winning isn't that important to me. I could care less about stats. Truthfully, I just want to play DotA again.

Did I know maphacking was wrong? Absolutely. Did I think I would get caught? No. My friend told me the maphack was undetectable. Realistically when someone tells you that they found an undetectable maphack, hell, I kind of want to give it a try. I let my curiosity get the best of me. It was a crime of opportunity and I am not what you could call a "career criminal." I learned my lesson and I will never, ever, ever pick up a maphack or any hack for that matter ever again.

I'm not a hardcore DotA gamer by any means. I'm a very casual player. I'm completely busy with real life work and sometimes I enjoy playing DotA in order to reduce stress and relax. It's fun for me and it allows me to get away from the real world for a bit.

I've been reading through through a ton of other people's bans and I understand why you guys are so strict. Everyone sounds like they're fourteen years old and they bark orders like "UNBAN ME NOW UNBAN ME NOW WTF UNBAN ME." I'm 22 years old. I can control myself when I have to. As I said before, this was a one time stupid thing that I got caught for and that will never happen again if I am given another chance.. I'm a very team-orientated player and I try as hard as I can not to be a nuisance or a troll.

Is there anyway I can prove that I won't maphack again? I promise I will not make you guys look like fools. I'm not that type of person, seriously.

Also, please, please, for the love of God, stop comparing this to a murder case. It's completely different. We're talking about someone's life here.

Ok after a think about it and you are right , Your about the only person who hasnt abused us admins calling us noobs and kids when trying to appeal a ban (it doesnt help).

You seem very sincere about not hacking again, Some maphacks are undetectable to the -ah command and fogclick detector, But with saying that most people i catch and think are hacking is due to there game play style and things that shouldnt be possible without full vision of the map.

Ill say +1 for him then to have his ban removed.

But this is a warning, Take us for a ride and your ban will never be lifted again.
