It was not your first time, and you did unignore him, flame him, and then ignore him back.

You might have ignored him, but the rest of the players could clearly read your insults.
Also, just because someone has the option to ignore you, doesn't mean you have the right to insult him, especially when there is no valid reason.

He is free to report any person who violates our rules. After all, this is how rules are enforced, and it helps achieve a better gaming experience.

I could hardly believe your record when I checked your previous bans. You have 39 bans from moderators. I've never seen a player with more than 10. Maybe if it was a new player saying this stuff, I would consider banning right away too harsh - for someone with such a history I have no sympathy. You should know better.
