Why are you banned: Shows "Refusal to votekick. TID: 9557477 (Other)"
Why you should be unbanned: First, I can't even tell where the game in question is that resulted in my ban. I also looked through the processed ban requests for the last several days and don't see my name mentioned anywhere.
I always participate in votekicks when appropriate, but I can't think of one in recent history where i did not... This is obviously a mistake. Could someone please point out to me where/what specifically i did wrong?

Re: Clearly a mistake
I figured out that "9557477" refers to the game ID.
Checked the game - there were two votekicks that took place. One was for someone that eventually lagged out (started by me).
The other was started against a player that was 2-1 (best record on their team), and was started for NO REASON - absolutely NO explanation in chat, etc. So obviously I didn't vote.
Less than 2 minutes after the vote, the team forfeited as it was already a 5v4.

Re: Clearly a mistake
After further research, it appears it stems from this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=24&t=113740&p=445602#p445602
My questions are:
1) Since when is a random 'votekick' with no explanation as to the reasoning behind it bannable?
2) There's a 5 minute AFK auto-kick for a reason. I shouldn't be required to type "-afk" every time a votekick is started to try to figure out why the votekick has been proposed
This is ridiculous - please overturn this ban.

Re: Clearly a mistake
1. Wasn't it quite obvious than our SB was afk? Level 3.
2. (12:54 / All) NewPlayer: Player [SCIENCEFICTION] voted to kick player [air567]. 4 more votes are needed to pass.
3. He moved back to base to afk again after being afk 3mins at bottom tower, resetting his idle time.
4.
(12:57 / All) Alina: afk
(13:00 / Allied) NewPlayer: -afk
(13:03 / Allied) NewPlayer: !yes
^ Proves that I did say why we vote kicked him for afk. Your ally even typed it, if you can't see that, rewatch the replay.
5. Again please watch the replay if you can't tell that our SB was afk 95% of the game.
Besides, you're not the one i reported so I could care less. Maybe pay more attention to vote kicks and yes refusal to kick throwers/afkers is bannable no matter how long it's been.

Re: Clearly a mistake
What Alina said.
The ban in question comes from myself because you and 2 others of the sentinel team refused to kick an AFK'er which is against the rules by our votekick guidelines. That being said, I won't have argumentation stem from this topic. The ban is legitimate and whether you deem it "ridiculous" or not is irrelevant to an appeal. You are here to correct your wrongdoings.
Please go over to our wiki and find both the General & VK rules, read them and paste the links of which you've read so I know such has been done. Cooperation is both expected and appreciated. I'll also remind that it will reflect positively on your appeal.

The ENT rules regarding votekicks specify as follows:
When you initiate a !votekick, you should clearly explain "Who" and "How" the violator is game ruining via all chat
To me, saying "AFK" and votekicking your best player is not clearly explaining how a violator is game ruining.
The ENT rules further state:
Do not go away from keyboard for an excessive amount of time, especially without telling other players beforehand, and/or refuse to play the game in an attempt to ruin it. Neither are you allowed to grief by resetting the afk timer.
What's an excessive amount of time? There is a 5 minute AFK timer, but according to what I could tell (I timed it), he was NOT AFK for a TOTAL of 5 minutes.
I'm all for votekicking someone that's intentionally resetting the AFK timer, but beyond that, what's considered "excessive?" He specifically stated he would be away from keyboard, by saying "PP". So what's the arbitrary number after which someone can be votekicked, less than the 5 minute timer? Is it 2 minutes? 48 seconds? 20 seconds?
I'm not saying the AFKer shouldn't have been reported and banned for being "away from keyboard for an excessive amount of time", but to ban me for not votekicking their best player is ridiculous.
Furthermore, it's also ridiculous that the same person that banned me is overseeing the appeal. How is that fair? I'd like to request another admin review this. I'm not going to apologize when I did nothing wrong - I'd rather wait the remaining <24 hours for the ban to expire.
I've been a contributing member to ENT for many years, with thousands of games played, and I honestly can't believe the bias of this admin. If I didn't know better I'd say it's white-knight syndrome.
Av1oN, finally, your stating "You are here to correct your wrongdoings" is completely contrary to the very definition of the word "Appeal". Last I checked this was the appeal forum, not the penance forum... To state that I'm here to correct my wrongdoings is laughable.
Another admin - please review this.

Re: Clearly a mistake
@mystical_ice
Ive watched replay, and understand your point as well. The main issue here is that scourage did say he was afk and several players voted.
Now when other team says someone is afk and starts to use vk, you are requried to try to followup on that and check -afk to see if he was afk or -ma to check the level of the hero. I also noticed that only 1 votekick was attempted and you could have simply failed.
Regardless unless you are understanding that it is your duty as player in ent to check what is happening in game, if you see someone do votekick in future you should try to follow up on it and see if it is true or not. Even if he was afk for few minutes the level difference was quite big on this game and impacting at the time and scourage asked for kick. If player lets his teammate know that he has to go afk for few minutes this is ok, however any other afk even few minutes are considered afk and as players we have to check especially when other team explains why they are using votekick. I'm willing to unban you but only if you see what im trying to say here, regardless of the length of the afk of course not 20 seconds -or 1 minute, just in general it is required for players to check why other team is trying to vk someone.
