Appeal + AmmoN mod abuse

Your Warcraft III username: VLNKTAR
Realm/Gateway: Europe
Why are you banned: AmmoN got mad at me in lobby and instantly banned me without even providing a link or anything.
Why you should be unbanned: There's no rule against announcing a mode as red and then changing your mind about it. This is clear case of mod abuse purely because he was on the other team and got mad. For reference, I'm currently playing the game he banned me for, so he banned me without even a replay link or lobby chat available.

"When picking a mode other than the default one (-hpgmcb prophet or -phgmcb), mode setter (red) must announce it in the lobby before the game starts. Every player must be informed, so they have the opportunity to leave in case of dislike."

Where is the rule against changing ur mind? and it was announced that the mode would be auto again.

This is clearly an abuse of the mod status

@vinktar @morelossthanwin You cannot mess around with mode announcements to get people to leave a lobby so that you can try and get people that you want on your team. That is delaying the game and lying about the mode. Given your history/ experience, you should know better. Feel free to go to the rules and copy and paste the ones that you broke, after reading the game-specific and general rules.

Where is the rule stating that? You can't just arbitrarily make up rules and go on a power trip because you have a blue name. Mod abuse is not allowed. Plus since you're in the game and are biased it's a clear conflict of interest for you to review this. Requesting other mods @Alina @civilizations @Falenga @broud3r @BeerLord

@morelossthanwin It can delay a lobby if someone is doing it as a troll tactic - not the first time I have seen this. It is also lying about a mode since they changed their mind AFTER people left. Again, the intention here was to get people to leave so that they could have others on their team.

You don't know what my intentions were. And either way, there is not a single rule about it. I did not delay lobby at all. The fact that you banned me without any evidence at all (since the lobby chat and replay still aren't even available) just shows that you're doing this out of malice and power tripping, not to enforce the rules.

delaying is leaving and rejoining the lobby multiple times.

Not changing ur mind after 20 sec with the mode

@morelossthanwin Someone left quickly so someone else could join his team. This can stall a lobby for a long time, but luckily for the lobby, it happened quickly in this case.

@vlnktar I can pull the lobby chat quite quickly once the game is finished and update it - not exactly difficult to do.

The replay and lobby chat are not the only forms of evidence. If the moderator is ingame, he can ban you if you break the rules. He is there to see it with his own eyes, no evidence is required. Obviously s/he has to provide the replay and necessary proof later when he posts ban request, but that is besides the point. Amnon will update the ban request with relevant info once the game is over. I suggest you calm down and wait till that happens because before that, this is just going to be your word against his which is getting us nowhere.

But I did not break any rules. Plus it's ridiculous a mod can just make up his own version of events and ban you with 0 evidence then provide the evidence later.

I am calm. I have to go after this game anyway and won't be on for at least 8 hours. Don't care about the ban but it's not right for mods to abuse power like this.

It's not ridiculous. SInce he has to provide the proof for the ban request, which he has to post after the game, he isn't "making things up". He is just banning you in advance so you don't further ruin the game.

Do you know how absurd that sounds? It's like in real life a judge throwing a guy in jail with 0 evidence "in advance" so he "doesn't break the law any further".

Point is, I didn't break any rules originally so the ban is unjustified. Furthermore, the fact that he did the ban without any evidence to back it up makes the whole ordeal a clear display of moderators power tripping instead of actually following the proper procedure to enforce rules.

Here is the lobby chat from the game: http://storage.entgaming.net/replay/dow ... 612771.txt

Which rule did I break? All I see is a mod making threats against me and abusing his power because things didn't work out his way

[BoboStomping]: You don't get to do that to get the team you want.
[BoboStomping]: Consider this a warning.

Yeah, that does sound absurd. However, when ENT mods are ingame, we are not judges. We are cops. And cops do put you in jail if you break the law pending the trial.

But all that does not matter. The mod thought you were breaking the rules, he banned you. We can ban players ingame. Even if you think we have no proof, we do. It's called our own eyes and interpretation.

---

Now since we have the replay and the lobby chat, let's see what we have here.

While I do agree with Amnon, that "tricking" players to leave the game by telling them another mode you have no intention of playing, just to get a better team is considered deceiving players, that didn't happen here, as far as I can see from the logs.

[VlNKTAR]: mode is hpgm hybrid
[System]: *** player [Tigersensei] has left the game (has left the game voluntarily)
[System]: Waiting for 1 more players before the game will automatically start. (www.entgaming.net)
[VlNKTAR]: i changed my mind
[System]: Waiting for 1 more players before the game will automatically start. (www.entgaming.net)
[VlNKTAR]: auto
[System]: *** player [ed_vard] has joined the game

Unbanned this time. Try to play nice from now on, and not on the line of grey area :)
