Your Warcraft III username:WesternTank
Realm/Gateway:USEast
Why are you banned:MapHack
Why you should be unbanned:I really am not sure how I could be banned for "maphacking", the game that I was apparently reported for I didn't even win! Finding feed is now considered map hacking apparently? If anybody from that game should be banned, it should be Dr.AculaMN, but I'll make another thread for that. For now, can you please lift the ban on me, there is no way I maphacked, this is ridiculous.

@Closeded So, how do you explain these?

This is just playing titan. I didn't immediately buy pearl, so my only way to feed other than camping mid was to wander out and see what I could find. Lucking out and finding some feed is great, but just that, luck. But my luck clearly didn't hold up, as you can see I ended up losing the game. I have nothing but the replay and my integrity as proof for myself, but this is clearly just a case of some one feeling salty and claiming map hack.

The thing is, you can claim ''Lucked out'' but throughout the replay pre-minions you were stopping and re-thinking your process and quite frankly that's very suspicious compared to just running into blind spots and finding something. Maphack by suspicion is generally where events just like these happen so again, please explain your actions properly as Haunt instructed.

Ok, so I left mound and went north, grabbing the original pools that were mentioned. I decided to check top right, and caught a glimpse of the dryad wall, so i took that lumber base.
3:17 i literally walked out to the bottom left circle camp, a common place for people to place RCs, saw the fruits and took them. I'm not sure how that is 'slightly suspicious', or why i would have needed to follow a builder to check a common feed spot.
at 4:11 i was directly south of the mound, again another common lumber base/area to put an RC.
right before i started attacking murloc, you can watch me enter 2 empty lumber camps to check them. Now why would somebody who is maphacking waste time checking two empty lumber camps? After i see there is no feed, i go bottom left. Typically, when people lumber camp at the very bottom left, they wall directly south of the spot where murloc was basing, by the water. This has been my general experience with the game, so when i saw no walls, i assumed there was no lumber camp.I checked the spot where murloc had based because i had already spent time going down to that corner, so i was going to check all the common lumber/base areas.
It is extremely apparent in the replay that i make mistakes, check areas without feed, and just play the game. I've shown you my thought process as a player at each instance that i was accused of playing suspiciously. I've been playing island defense for over 5 years now, so even though I'm not great at titan, I know the general tricks of the game, including common places that people use as lumber camps and bases. It only makes sense to me to check these areas manually when I don't have a pearl yet.

Doesn't the game auto kick you now for maphack and how do you ban someone for maphack without evidence like fog clicks? *abuse*

n3w_3ra 's point is extremely valid. The only 'proof' leveled against me is suspicion, and how is suspicion incriminating? I could say that I'm suspicious of any player who is doing well, that doesn't mean they're map hacking.
@Agreements I don't know what a tradehack is, but I didn't hack anything, and I didn't break any rules. I love playing Island Defense on these bots, so naturally I'm extremely disapointed that I was so hastily banned for nothing by such a lack of evidence.

@agreements fair, but when someone is reported for maphacking anything with no evidence to back the claim up except for "im suspicious", is protocol to just ban them?

I've been looking through some other processed ban appeals in regards to map hacking. Most of them reference some kind of fog click detector that apparently can tell whether or not the person in question was using 3rd party assistance tools. Is there anyways that you guys could do that on my replay?

Claiming maphack on 2 minutes of gameplay in one game shouldn't warrant a ban. Just because you assume titan is going to do something but then he changes his mind shouldn't warrant a ban because it's suspicious. Island defense is a game that's almost 8~ years old with little change to the map, people place lumber camps in almost the same place. When you play a lot of games it becomes predictable to where some of the common lumber camps will be. 2 minutes of finding feed is silly, if he was going from lumber camp straight without fail finding feed for a long interval, and even over multiple games then it would be suspicious. This is especially silly considering the fact that I know of an island defense admin (not going to witch hunt) who clearly maphacks, he admitted it to me in the game and gave me proof, and said since he's admin he can't get banned and instead threatened to ban me)
tl;dr banning someone over maphack over 2 minutes of gameplay from a single game is silly. There's so much assumption and no actual evidence. I would wait for more games of this type of behavior before being all ban happy.

5 times you went straight for feed;demo's fruit, drayd's base, mag's rc, noob murloc, and bot left. After you killed, drayd's lumber base you tped right back because there was no feed top right. If we follow your logic, top right is one of hte most common place to set up lumber base, not to mention 9 o'clock. In addition, you never went for "common" lumber base that has strong walls set up, (9o'clock, 6 o'clock).

I've watched thousands of replays checking for maphack, and I can say for sure that this replay does not warrant a ban due to insufficient evidence.
2:10 - Goes straight for the fruits because he went back to by webbed feet. 0% chance of suspicious maphack activity.
2:25 - He changed his mind nearly instantly after killing the fruits, he also backtracked a bit after seeing the wall, so the lumber base was not his original destination. 0% chance of suspicious maphack activity.
3:17 - He was about to go back to mid, then went back for RC/Shelter, strange pathing, 1% of maphack.
4:11 - Goes straight for fruit + RC + shelter, at a popular lumber spot. 1% of maphack
4:54 - Checked the bottom three popular lumber bases while going to the empty two first. Could be covering up his maphack, as he saw a single wall just before going into the empty lumber base and did not react to it. But considering that titan is new, I'd still give it a 0% for maphack.
The percentages combine to 2% for suspicion for maphack, and I feel the player should be unbanned due to insufficient evidence. Please give me a challenge next time, this one was too obvious.

@urdeadnoobs so, i go north, happen across 2 demon pools and kill them. Clearly 'map hack', 0% probability of that happening legitimately.
Continue towards unpearled top right. Heading towards common lumber camp spot, and see a wall in my peripheral. Turn around and walk to the wall to reveal a dryad lumber camp. Again, super sketchy, seeing walls is a clear indicator of mh.
TP back to stop the horde of defenders plundering my gold mine (read mh)
Still being without pearl, the next best idea in my mind is to scour the area nearby the mound in order to minimize golding, while still not just camping mid fruitlessly. The lumber base bottom left of the mound usually has nature/rad seeds, or some factories/RCs just lying in wait, and is like 10 steps away from the mound. Even if it doesn't have feed, its worth a peek, as the golders will have minimal time to harvest.
Same premise applies directly the the small lumber area directly south of the mound where i found mags shelter/RC.
Decision time. What do now? Camp mid like a chump? Nah, I'll take a gamble and go farther out to find farm. Top right has been checked somewhat already, so I just decided to go bottom left. There are a few lumber camps that in my experience are commonplace usage in that general corner of the map, so it's always worth a shot to try it blind. Go southish of the mound immediately, nothing. Start checking left, second camp (the one that opens from the left) has nothing.
As I explained in an earlier post, it has been my experience that when a builder is using the very bottom left corner of the map as a lumber base, they typically wall it off at A) the north entrance between some trees, and B) next to the water, immediately South of the base Murloc was basing in. When I didn't see walls, I was presented with two possible options in my head. Either check the base that murloc turned out to be in, or swing around bottom and check the lumber camp immediately north of murloc's position. I chose the former option, and found Murloc. Burn mentioned in the replay that one of Murloc's walls was even visible, but I honestly didn't even notice it, and just blind checked after making my choice of path checks.
Literally every single point of potential suspicious behavior is completely refutable. After talking with some of my friends who are more familiar with the game mechanics, it seems that at a bare minimum the replay should have been checked for 'fog clicks' to legitimize and put to bed any possibility of third party tools. This wasn't done, and if it was done I am 100% certain that nothing could be found, as I once again iterate that I did not use any such tool.

Tools are not always accurate and should only be used to assist in finding instances of maphack (hence why DRM logs are what are required not FCD).

It was done but just because they don't return an instance doesn't mean that the user wasn't maphacking. (see attached replay and guess if titan was maphacking)
@Haunt ,
@J4zZm4NI did watch more than just this replay.
While he is suspicious, I don't believe there is enough evidence to prove that it was not by luck.

Eh the only admin actually free from being banned is uakf.b.
Do you even have any evidence that ent is protecting maphacking staff? afaik the only staff member to be accused of maphack was fenix and he was accused by staff members.
