Postby noobhere » Fri May 31, 2013 1:20 am

Warcraft III username:noobhere
Realm:uswest
Gamename: No idea??
Bot username:
Situation: Found out this name has been banned until 2014.
Why you should be unbanned: I have no idea why I was banned. Can I get explanation on the specific game that warranted this ban please? Thank you for your assistance on this matter.

BGN is another map hosting service. BGN, like ENT, hosts a variety of games on bnet -- DotA included -- though BGN will discontinue hosting games on bnet very soon.

So you were caught map hacking when you played one of the BGN-hosted DotA games, and that ban was transferred here.

I see. Except that I don't play BGN so this must be mixed up with someone else..I don't know what to tell you.

How do you check an IP on blinkgaming? They have the same account name. but they doesn't necessarily mean they're the same person.

But they share the same realm and same username.

I'm supporting the ban removal on 2 basis.

1. Ban was made in July last year.
2. Source Thread is no longer retrievable with the replay gone as well.

I remember I created account io_ to smurf with before, and it didn't start out at 1000 elo, it had 900 something from previous games that I did not play, that someone else with that same account had played before me. The same concept could apply to bans - player Noobhere creates an account, plays a few games on BGN, gets banned, abandons the account. Then the bans are transfered, and someone creates a new account Noobhere, overriding the old account, but is still banned.

All depends whether the IPs match.

Before unbanning we should PM the TheArcho since he placed the ban (Maphacking GID:1229674) and I doubt he failed. He might still have the replay.

Banned: 2012-07-13 08:10:51
Account: noobhere@west@bgn
Alts:
jusranothernoob@west
ks_king@west
niggka_plz@west

Static IP
23 games in total

noobhere@west@ent first played: 1 Oct 2012 04:13:36 CEST
No such alts

noobhere@east@ent first played: 22 Dec 2012 06:55:01 CET
Many alts but not similar to BGN ones

But both the same IP.

However, since the ENT ips don't match with the BGN one and the provider seems to be a different one, I would unban him based on being a different person. Plus, the ENT ip has different accounts on BGN.

Edit: Gonna recheck that later tho but internet super slow at the moment, can't do anything :/

@EdgeOfAllChaos You would have to be a BGN Mod to access people's IPs XD

The IPs are different between the BGN noobhere and the ENT noobhere, and the IPs trace to different parts of the United States. I would say they are two different users. If the ban was made last July I doubt The Archon would remember the exact situation XD

Staff members of BGN are actually supposed to keep the replays saved if they ban someone - at least I do have them all.
So asking archon wont take much effort.

Yup, I don't remember. I cleared my replays from last year, so I don't have it.
