Don't Breathe [Horror Game]
DON'T BREATHE v0.7
By JohnnyGuy
Plot: Inspired by the Horror Film, "Don't Breathe", a team of thieves must fight for their lives after breaking into the home of a blind veteran.
Objective: Collect 5 Keys to escape the house.
How To Play
- Moving or doing anything, including typing/chatting makes a sound, revealing your position to the blind man. You must wander the house looking for the 5 keys to successfully escape (bring the keys back to the gate at which you started).
Controls
- DON'T BREATHE: Press B to stop breathing, this halts everything you're doing, and you will not be heard by the blind man. You can hold your breath for 30 seconds, run out of breath and you will be forced to breathe. (Refer to your Mana/Leaderboard to see player's current breath).
- GASP: Press G to gasp, this will recover your breath faster.
- RUN: Press R and select yourself to run quicker, this takes some breath.
Items
- Net: Cast a net to ensnare the blind man to buy yourself some time.
- Landmine: Place a landmine, if the blind man steps on it, it will stun him for a little bit.
- Rock: Throw a rock somewhere to deceive the blind man into thinking that's your location.
- First-aid Kit: Recover 15 Health Points
Commands and Extras:
- DEAD-CAM: If you're dead, type "-w 1" or any number substituting that 1 to watch players that are still alive.
- The Blind Man's Dog: The blind man has a dog that roams the map, if it encounters you, it will attack you. If the dog attacks you, the blind man knows your location due to the sound the dog makes when biting you. The dog can be defeated.
- Key Placement is random, there is no guarantee the Key will be in the same spot each time the game is played. (16 Possible Places)
---
UPDATE v0.8
Changed some terrain
Changed Dog's life from 32 to 36.
New Ability: "Charge" - Press C to charge your flashlight, as it will fade away within 60 seconds, leaving you in the dark.
---
///
Still Updating the Game, but this is the stable running version.

PS. I know this is not going to be everyone's type of game. Some people fancy TD's, Vamps, Mazes, etc; but meh, can't please everyone.
Gameplay:
The Blind Man's AI + Working on a mode where a Player can be the Blind Man
*Due to people complaining that the Blind Man is overpowered, I will further explain his artificial intelligence, and reason why he is not overpowered (and actually underpowered)*
Complaint 1 "He always knows where I am"
- First off, this unit is blind to all the player units within the game. The only way he can know where you are is if you move/breath. He randomly roams the map, so him encountering you is a consequence of a choice you made. I even made his hearing/acquisition range to be realistic. I closed my eyes and had my friend walk down a hallway until I couldn't hear him, then based his hearing range off the distance between my friend and me. (I'm considering changing this, due to how easy it is sometimes to avoid him).
Complaint 2 "He camps..."
- If you were blind, knew you could take down the people robbing your house, and knew exactly where they were, would you be like "Um, let me just walk into another room..." Absolutely not! You would camp and wait until one of them breathes/makes a sound. (Of course, as a player, you can work in a team to confuse this instinct). Also, the blind man does walk away eventually if he hears no one, assuming he's wasting time standing in the room.
Complaint 3 "He's so overpowered"
- Well, his strength comes from him being an ex-war veteran, and also he's quite underpowered. There are a lot of triggers and ideas I scrapped because it would make the game truly more challenging. There used to be a trigger that if he bumped into you while roaming the halls and you were silent, he would know where you are due to touch.
Again, I understand that this may not be everyone's cup of tea, but this game is supposed to be challenging. Plus it's a horror film/game, so of course there's gonna be death <3
