I think roll price should not increase after 50 gold/ 50 wood.
It is because there are so many unplayable units in this game it makes no sense to me that people get punished for simple being really unlucky with their rolls.
Using another 50 gold is enought of 'punishment' for being unlucky. Using 100 gold or even 150 gold to boost your already bad roll is just dumb.
Reroll price should not increase from 50 gold/50 wood

Some boys talk about not being afraid a man with a gun - Until it pops off, you don't even see where they turn - Using excuses about running to get his gun - But when we see him, he is hiding underneath his bed

I think it's just because if you had a good early game roll then rerolled into a midgame and then a lategame there needs to be a cost that scales.
However having said so, I propose a different solution:
Make rerolls scale in price based on the current level. Make rerolls on wave 1 free, then increase in price by something like 10 gold per wave. Keep the maximum amount you are allowed at 6.

With free rerolls there will only be games wit OP units as the chance is very low to not get a decent unit in 5 rolls.

Re: Reroll price should not increase from 50 gold/50 wood
Using more than 100/150 gold in rolls is not profitable in most cases anyway.
For examble staying 7/4 wood to hold 15 instead of pushing extra 140 gold to 7/5 is a huge difference. Same thing with rolls.
So using 50 gold more than once or twice would have still big impact on your holding power.

@Jabba41
It's true, but since you never would get more rerolls spending them all at the start would make it pretty punishing to just keep rolling.
