Maps instead of Modes

So I am (somewhat) aware of how much time can go into designing a map, but what about just restructuring one? Even just retexturing?
Instead of having a 1200+ no mid mode bot which uses the exact same map as the MEGA bot, which is permitted to have -nm typed as long as it's announced in the lobby (which I personally find extremely detestable. I play MEGA to be allowed to build mid) what if the two maps were made to be visually distinguishable so that there is no confusion, and have the mode preset?
Even though the existence of modes does provide some "variety"...I think the "official" hosted maps should have the mode preset, and if someone wants a different mode they should host it themself.
As an idea for how to make the 1200+ no mid mode map look different, don't even have mid sections. Just make each lane lead to a portal which teleports the creeps to a central portal that leads to the king. Would also avoid intentional or unintentional pulling from the lane across with zeus or whatever.
