Hello,
In the interests of the community, I would like to submit this file for consideration by ENT upper admin.
I played this game with the newest ENT admin - Agreements - and four other players on the ent16 bot.
I feel these replays speak volumes regarding the attitude of the admin in question.
I beg the larger circle of ENT admins to consider how this sort of attitude among new admins might impact the health of the community.
Warmest Regards,
ravensfeast

Re: Admin Conduct in Game
I've reviewed this and Agreements has conducted himself in a good manner. There was no reason for yellow to even begin or continue to flame. And agreements asked him to stop nicely several times. I don't see what your complaint is even about.
If it were me, I'd ban the sucker under game ruining, end of story
EDIT: ok i see he kicked! lmao

Re: Admin Conduct in Game
Agreements did do they right thing at first. He muted and tried to play on. However, his later actions I can see as abusing admin powers. Admin need to try to stay out of talking/arguing battles. They should simply state the rules and if they don't comply they can be banned. Or as uakf.b says just use !ignore for flamers. Getting in a "pissing battle" with players leads to trouble. Eventually admins look like bullies and abuse their power. Admins need to be held to a higher standard. They are representing the ENT community more than others.
Also, if everyone wants to kick a person out of the game using !votekick I don't think admin should be able to cancel that. If everyone votes him out it should hold up. I do think it is an abuse of power to be able to !votecancel himself to stay in game.

He has every right to votecancel because he hasn't broken any of the rules.
Re: Admin Conduct in Game
I see that point. But there must be something going on if every other player wants him out. I guess I feel like majority should rule. And in a !votekick its way more than a majority. It's everyone but that player.
But it all comes back to what uakf.b said in last complaint posted on admin conduct
"Moving to processed. Moderators, don't ban for flaming in one game, use !ignore to ignore them or !mute to mute them; and tell everyone else (normal players) to do the same."
EDIT - Do admins have the power kick whoever they wish just because they started a votekick against them?

Stated in Dota Rules
The following are prohibited
- Extreme impoliteness: racism or excessive trash talking
Stated in general Game Rules
- Do not flame. Don't rage or insult other players excessively.
- Abusing votekick: using !votekick to spam or when the victim hasn't violated any rules
Did the player break these rules? Check, Check, and CHECK.
So even though he shouldn't have, he still had the right to.

Re: Admin Conduct in Game
It depends on what permissions uakf.b gives players as powers. For most hostbots, admins have the !kick command power, which means they can boot a player from the game, but it depends on the admin power that he gives them.PresTeddy wrote:EDIT - Do admins have the power kick whoever they wish just because they started a votekick against them?
Re: Admin Conduct in Game
I completely agree with you agreements. Dota is for fun and learning. And sometimes people get carried away and flame. I have myself. I also agree that admins do ALOT for the ENT community for free! But that is a choice that you have made yourself. And with that choice you take on a responsibility and you gain power over individuals. I know ENT is not a business and Admins work for free but you need to conduct yourself like its a business, because you do have power over individuals. You have the power to take away their freedom of playing a free dota game online by banning them. Just like cop makes an arrest. The cops reads him their rights and arrest them. He doesn't get in a verbal argument with them. Or arrest them to make a point. He arrests them because they broke a law. I think admins need to do something similar. I think they should first tell the player that he/she is an admin or a moderator and then read them the rule they are breaking. If they continue to break the rule, they are banned. This is a simple way to avoid all these confrontations between normal players and admins. Moderators are here to keep our online gaming experience safe and fair, so they need to conduct themselves in a manner accordingly. Just remember not all players have the POWER to ban or kick, so they should be used respecfully.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Admin Conduct in Game
^ you are expected to know rules before playing. Otherwise "I maphacked, but didnt know it was a rule" would happen lol. Anyways just have fun. its a game. not life.
And no, cops do not read you the rules. They tell you your current rights so that they can use anything you do/say against you in the court of law. They do not tell you that you are breaking a law if you have already broken it.

First, people already say they didn't know such and such was rule. Doesn't mean they still don't get banned. Not sure what your point is...
Second, please read my post correctly. I did say that cops read RIGHTS and then arrest. I never said they read them rules. I was simply making connection between what police officers do and what game moderators do. My point was I don't think moderators should get in a verbal argument with other players. They simply state they are a moderator and tell other players if they break any of the ENT rules, they will be banned. Plan and simple, like a cop. No reason to get in a verbal argument with flamers. If you let flamers get the best of you then things like this happen.
