Admins in game with maphack click bot

Postby dumbshoe » Mon Sep 24, 2012 6:35 am

That tool is being used for a good purpose - however - when someone has a hero selected and they run into fog, you have to take in effect the lag in game. I have been accused TWICE now for clicking on someone in fog - and this is getting old.

First off, this tool isn't maphack. ¬¬
Second, admins shouldn't have accused you of mher, they should watch the replay to a real evidence and if true, then ban you.

No, what I'm saying is that they use the tool to detect maphackers in game when they click on someone/thing in fog of war. And that's why I am complaining - both games I've been in they accuse me in game of maphacking and say things like "enjoy your ban" - etc.

Also, the tool itself is faulty - if it is going off for me repeatedly, obviously it needs to be patched or something. I don't use any sort of maphack and this is the second time I'm accused of it.

Yes the tool gives false positives. And yes the admins should be actually reviewing the replay before actually banning you.

I think uakf.b said they should not use it in game. This would help them get less bans wrong and check only when suspicious of maphack. Not the other way around.

When I was a TDA moderator, NAZ (TDA ADMIN) was banned by icefrog himself for using maphacks to catch maphackers in game. I think you guys should take this a bit more seriously because the admin that banned me said the same exact thing to me before banning me on delayed fog clicks...

In my opinion yes you should be unbanned. Also people should just stop using that fog click detector as mods in games because it really does give a lot of false positives. Sure if you get over 40 by the end of the game it is likely the player is hacking, but 1,2,3 is not enough to ban on especially when vision was within 1 second give or take.

The problem isn't using the maphack detector (by the way, if the detector tells you who clicked what, then it gives you unfair information and is not allowed in ENT games). The problem is banning based on it.

Anyway you should follow the procedure in http://clanent.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=917 for new bans. You also should follow this:

Note on maphacking: if you suspect a person is maphacking, you can only ban the user if you have thoroughly read this and here. If you have not read them or do not fully understand everything, or if you're not sure about the evidence that you've found, then post in ban discussion first. Also remember that you must post in Processed Ban Requests with a replay.

It also applies to bans in Processed Ban Requests.

I don't care if you think you've only been wrong twice. If it tells you who clicked and also what they clicked then it cannot be used because it could give you an advantage in the game. If it just says who clicked then it might be okay.

it means ent admins dont know about delay fog clicks when you click someone or something as it goes into fog it will show up as a fog click they need to learn that send a pm out or post something in staff forums about it possibly alot of bgn admins use this and we arnt saying someone map hacks unless it obviously completly in fog and no chance of delay
