Well what do you want done about this? I wouldn't mind looking into this for you.

Like I said in previous post. I feel I was banned unfairly, but that is not why I made this thread. If this is deemed bannable for game ruining(which it has pretty much already, I'm still banned) it would be nice to have that listed on game rules. So future players know. Because on Tuesday I go to play and says banned for item destruction. Lol So I'm confused which led to an appeal then to a major argument between mods, because their opinion was game ruined for "useless item" which in turn led me here.

Well I looked through the dota rules, item destruction is listed under the game rules. Unfortunately I have to tend to some tasks and wouldn't be able to look over this at least for another few hours but I'm piecing this together as I read the posts.

Here is my opinion:
Game ruin: ultimately, you are DECIDING the outcome of the game, lose, DEFINITELY by item selling/grieving/afk/not collaborating with team's effort affecting violator's team moral and team performance. In a big sense, you ruin the game experience for both teams.
Raxing is one of the big things we look upon to consider if a team is winning or not, however there is a bigger issue here to consider: did the OP's team give up first? (I did not watch replay, but from what I have read...his team gave up first or together). If all or majority of the allies gave up and he sells his item to get a force staff to prevent enemy from fountain farming, I do not think this is a game ruining behaviour. In this case, OP's selling did not decide game loss, but the whole team's grieving...
IF OP sold his items to get a force staff while his teammates were trying to fight back asking him to help, it can be considered game ruining they still have a chance to win... arguably most situations can be overturned with a comeback xD just a matter of luck, skill, and good decision.
The mere action of selling items to get a force staff will definitely not help you win the game. But, if the game is assumed to be lost, OP's action can be considered similar to TINY tossing his ally into fountain to prevent his ally from fountain farming, etc etc... One of the reason EXCESSIVE fountain farming is considered abusive is not only because of stats, but also because it prolongs the game too much. If team gives up you can give up, they can !ff or wait it out the classic way...all sit still or blame each other like most nabs =D
Dota rules can NEVER be concrete... in this case unban or a reduce of ban shoulda been reasonable. If he is banned his team should also be banned for grieving since that is what caused him to sell his items to buy a force staff.

Ban has been reduced already.
Should have been expired.
Post is now in the suggestions so I feel that the need too keep this open to discuss about the rules is not needed.
