My thoughts on that-girl ban

Hello. I'm writing in this part of the forum because I am not the person who got banned and I guess you could consider this not only a plea for this persons right to play games on this league but also criticism against the ban policies in place.

The background story:

That-girl stopped playing in a DotA game that I was playing in and at some point towards the end of the game sold his items/bought branches and stopped playing to win. I don't think this behavior is acceptable but I think you should always be considering the circumstances. The game was already lost, I was 1-10 or something and rushed dagon from the beginning (just for fun) the enemy team were completely rolling over us and someone in our team (I believe it was me tbh) didn't forfeit the game.

So in despair over wasting her time on a game that was 100% lost she sold her items and started to fuck around for the last 2-3 minutes of the game.

After this that-girl got banned for a few weeks and subsequently started to play on different accounts which has now resulted in a ban that spans several months.

the administrator Isis writes;
Stop having people stand up for you when we've SEEN your behaviors ingame and out of game

Seeing how strong you admins have reacted to a petty issue like this and the crazy consequences from what I think is just a silly mistake I don't think you have seen this persons behavior and I WILL publicly stand up on this persons behalf. Not because it's a girl but because it's a person I enjoy playing with.

I met this person "that-girl" a couple of months ago. Some of her friends whispered me randomly and asked me if I wanted to play with them "great" I thought, always fun with new friends. I played a couple of games with this person and her friends and it took them 30 minutes to completely embrace me and make me a part of their social circle. I was invited into their clan, encouraged to play with them and their friends and "accepted" immediately.

Since then I have played probably a hundred games in one month with this person and her friends and throughout these one hundred games I have not seen this person ruin, flame, leave, afk or in ANY WAY act inappropriate (apart from this ONE SINGLE game).

I have seen that-girl get FLAMED for sucking ass, I have seen her get FLAMED for nothing but I have NEVER ONCE seen her flame ANYONE else in return. The classic thing she would say is "yeye just calm"

This person is perhaps the person with the HIGHEST MORAL in this ENTIRE league. This person applies for admin position - to IMPROVE the league. This person constantly reports abusive behavior - to IMPROVE the league. This person encourages others to play on ENT (such as me, check yourself when I started play a lot) - TO IMPROVE the league. This person has started a DotA clan with 20-30 people that play regularly on this league exclusively - TO IMPROVE the league.

You admins have to remember that this game is in a very fragile state and banning people left and right for months definitely wont improve the situation with 2% of players being above average in skill and games taking 15 minutes to fill.

This person has learned her lesson and apologized for her behavior. Ban her for whatever time you initially intended (1 week or whatever??) but throw this 3 month ban in the trash. Sometimes you have to look past the rulebook and see the world for what it is. This crazy 3 month ban is definitely not deserved considering the circumstances and will force me and everyone else that plays with/supports this person to join another league (which will just ruin for everyone that plays dota on ENT) and we prefer to play on this league instead of one where admins themselves are the biggest abusers.

Use bans for what they are intended; to rid our games of the PLAGUE that is abusive/destructive people and not to banish the nicest person and most active contributor this league has.

Well, I read past the rulebook and wasted my time reading the second half of your thread; three months isn't long at all. He/she made the personal decision to dodge a simple ban, therefore held accountable for their actions. If this wasn't a rightful ban, then I'm sure the entire staff would of considered otherwise. You think that the Warcraft III community is dead, but that is because you spend 100% of your time playing on one map: DotA. Use some of that time to roam around battle.net, and you'll be surprised on how active the Warcraft III community remains, instead of wasting our time here reading a book on a one person ban.

Have a good evening.
