Brief introduction: Hello ENT community, I am timmythetauren. I started my time at ENT during the BGN and ENT merge back in March, although I registered my account way back when ENT was formed in April 2012. I came from BGN as a Lead Administrator, not exactly fitting in ENT’s rank system. With no rank to fit in I became a game moderator here. I was removed back in late September, early October, for inactivity. Although, I still feel that it was a bit questionable. I have had a great time at ENT, partaking in many discussions throughout the forum, both silly and serious. I am an avid Island Defense player, don’t really play many other games. I am a generally well-known player of Island Defense and know the community very well. I also know the rules very well, hell, I even wrote some of them.

What are your current hours of playing time (approximate): Geez, it really depends. There is a large window, depending on the day, often with many outliers. Plus frequent forum checks.

What is your current time zone? GMT-5 (EDT)

Why do you want to become a game moderator? I want to become a game moderator again because I simply find it better. I enjoy having the ability to kick and ban the person who is currently ruining my game. I enjoy being able to swap BurnShady from green to make him mad. I enjoy being able to use the alias checker. I enjoy the warm feeling inside after using the ban hammer. I enjoy many different perks that come with being admin. I am not denying I use admin frequently for personal gain, but I would also like to use admin for the benefit of the community as well. I would like to help resolve disputes and claims on the forum more promptly. I would like to help process ban requests to ensure an enjoyable and fair gaming experience for the members of the community. There are many things a moderator can do to help the community, and I feel like I have the ability to do those things well.

What will you bring to the ENT/Warcraft III community? I am a person who is generally very active both in-game and on the forum. I am very familiar with ID game rules, as I mentioned before, and can help process ban requests. I hope to come in and help lower the average time it takes for an ID request to be processed. I have noticed many different people discouraged to post a request because the person ruining the game won’t even be banned for 2 - 5 days on some occasions. I am familiar with maphack related requests - I have to ability to properly handle a maphack request. I would like to think I have a fairly good sense of judgement. I can correctly, fairly, and promptly handle ban appeals. I’m a person who doesn’t mind helping a new or confused member with something they need help with, whether that be via PM, or on ENT chat. Oh, and by the way, I can correctly communicate in English, for the most part.

Closing Statement: Ok, so I will go ahead and try to address the skepticism and obvious questions now:

First let’s go over a few obvious things and questions you know you have and will see.

Q. Why apply now?

A. Cyber said to make app.

Q. What’s different?

A. You know, nothing is really different as to back when I was mod. I suppose you could say I now have a different impression of requirements and standards. Including attitude, activity, and various actions specific to ENT.

Q. Can you handle more than Island Defense?

A. Currently I am mainly an ID player, and while on WC3, will always be mainly an ID player. However, I am open to learning more about other games in order to correctly judge and handle those requests as well, if needed. So to directly answer the question, no I currently cannot efficiently handle more than ID, apart from maphack requests, as those are generally universal.


Now perhaps one of the biggest concerns. “Timmy, you’re a troll.”

Aha! You don’t say? I understand a lot of people think my trolling gets out of hand and I’m going to go ahead and agree. I know I have posted useless, trolly (yes trolly) things before. I understand these things are unnecessary. However I rarely post something like this on a serious matter. (Apart from friends' staff apps hehe) It really is meant to be fun, although we all know trolling can get very annoying. I can assure you now, I mean no harm when trolling. And I will be severely cutting down on how much trolling I do as a staff member, on all content.

Basically, I do not want my approach to admin to be all work, all seriousness, all the time. People need to have a sense of humor or nothing would ever be fun. What are we here to do at a gaming community anyway? Have fun with the game or be sticks in the mud? Now don’t get me wrong... I still understand there are times for serious behavior and decisions. I’m sure past BGN staff members can vouch for that, too.


Finally, I understand I cannot directly apply for forum moderator, but I am interested in helping out with the forums, too. A mod can essentially do nothing but ban requests or appeals, at a resolving standpoint. The mod can’t do much of anything in any other sections. I’d be happy to spend some time here and there handling and processing complaints, suggestions and support where I can. As well as weeding out the useless posts and content within posts that is unneeded. Although you may think this is hypocritical, as that is usually me with the unneeded material.

Any Ban request you help on others? All I see is ban request you made on yourself, and you have to be contribute with a lot of it. Also some of your ban request wasn't fully filled out when you know what is expected on proper ban request??? You can see on arty response on Timmy's ban request, it can be improved. You been around forum a while and some aren't correctly filled? Sorry to be mean, honest opinion. Your most active forum is island defense archive, so I see you Involve there, but I still think most active forum should be in ban request. It still good to be active in both, but I think your ban request section can be "improved" because prior from your past experiences on forum. Application don't look to bad though.

ID Archive just recently overtook processed requests as my most active forum as there was an ID forum cleaning, I have around 1/6 of my posts in processed requests.

seems kind of immature still. also seems more focused on his own usage of in game functions for personal gain - alias checker is normally for ban dodge checks, not unfair advantage compared to other players, correct? !deny

trolls even today... moderators shouldn't troll in the games they moderate or as they are kind of abusing their authority, since no one can really call them out since they are mods.

I mentioned that I enjoy using alias checker to see alts. I'm not sure how that gives me an unfair advantage, though.

I do troll, doesn't mean I abuse authority. If I were to abuse authority, the higher admins would call me out and remove me from the staff.

Actually, I trolled you Timmy, sorry for that, wasn't personal.. but I wasn't sure about the reds since my return, if they would approve some guy like you *who only trolls* so I asked to you to apply just to see their reaction. Thank you for your help.
What agreements said is valid.

If you are serious about your return to the staff, then you can reapply in a couple of weeks.
And i didn't like the trolling started by PLus, and the fact you just went along with him doesn't make it better.

So if you really want to help, change your fame..
