Name: Nick
Age: 31
Game moderator specialty (see below for choices): LTD, Dota, Gem TD
Brief introduction: well for those who havent played with me before or gotten to know me around the community, i am a pretty fun loving guy. i'm a very happy person who lives life to its fullest. I am a retired US Marine originally from Syracuse, NY which is where i returned too after my active duty enlistment. I recently relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio a little over a year ago. I have been in the transportation industry for over 11 years as a truck driver and independent contractor, transporting various types of freight all over the east coast. other than playing warcraft i enjoy rebuilding and riding motorcycles and jet-skis. I play softball in the spring/summer months and bowl in the winter months (210 avg.) other than that i pretty much enjoy anything outdoors or that has to do with my immediate family which is very important to me.
What are your current hours of playing time (approximate): typically 3-5 days a week 4-5 hours each day.
What is your current time zone: eastern
Describe any relevant experience, both in moderating and in Warcraft III: i have been around the ent community for about 2 years or so now. But in all i have been a part of the warcraft community since the beginning way back in '94. Warcraft: Orcs & Humans was the first video game that i ever played online with others. back then there was no battlenet so in order to play online you had to go through AOL and pay a fee, something like $1.99 an hr which even then was a ridiculous amount of money to be playing a game but i was hooked. I ended up joining one of the first ever warcraft clans known as IWG ( Insane War Godz ). In those days most people would play with clans in order to get the best games possible for the amount of money you were spending. From there Warcraft 2: Tides Of Darkness arrived and eventually so did battlenet. I continued to play with IWG slowly moving up the ranks. Eventually over time the clan was disbanded due to players losing interest and not enough structure to keep it together. Once Warcraft 3: Reign Of Chaos was released i decided to bring back IWG and ran the clan as president for about 2 years. Back then was when i was in the Marine Corps and eventually was unable to keep up with gaming so i disbanded the clan. I continued to play ROC and TFT over the years, mostly playing TD's and Maul types of custom maps. i played a lot of the original DOTA back then and the original version of Gem TD. Eventually i got bored with warcraft and took a break for several years until a snow storm and boredom about 3 years ago caused me to break it out and re-install. I stumbled upon LTD 3.41 and was hooked from there. Eventually finding the Ent community and have been a part of it ever since.
Why do you want to become a game moderator: I am a firm believer in rules and structure and this is what mainly appeals to me about Ent. the rules that are set in place and the ranking structure is what sets Ent apart from other gaming communities and i would like to be able to help enforce these rules. As i am frequently scanning over the ban requests i notice that sometimes they will go unresolved for a few days. I believe that a prompt response to these ban requests will allow players to hopefully learn from their mistakes and hopefully not break the rule again, and this is what i would like to help out with.
What will you bring to the ENT/Warcraft III community: Experience, lots and lots of experience. as i have been around the warcraft community for such a long time. I am also always willing to learn new things and help out in any which way that was needed. i believe that the insight i could bring to possible new rule changes and additions would be an asset to the community. I tend to have an "outside the box" way of thinking so i could possibly bring a different perspective to discussions that might not be there.
Closing Statement: As i am primarily a ltd player i would be best at helping with these rule enforcement, but i also have experience and know all the rules to dota even though i have not played it on a regular basis in a long time. i am also willing to learn the rules and moderate other games such as Island Defense, Battleships, or whatever other games would be required of me. My maphack detection skills are far from good, but as i said i'm always willing to learn more. I'm aware that i'm not the most active member on the message boards, i am on them regularly, i just prefer to read and observe unless i have something to say that is of merit. I've always tried to be a fair player, and a fun player to play with. i always try to help out new players as much as a can with advice, strategies, explanation of rules and various other things. I already enjoy being a part of the Ent community and now that i have more spare time on my hands i would very much enjoy becoming a bigger part of it. Thank you for your consideration and look forward to hearing back.

I think you are very knowledgable of the rules by looking at your ban requests. Your app is very well written. support!
Having an unstable internet connection or a high risk of lagging out? Are you tired of losing a won game because you disconnected?

Re: Wake_N_Bake@useast
App too short: not enough interest/effort
App too long: 'boring'
Support for mod, seems to have the intelligence, capability and right attitude.

Re: Wake_N_Bake@useast
Sorry @agreements. Im not a very skilled writer. The summary in a nut shell: if im willing to put that much effort into an app to become a mod then id be willing to put just as much if not more effort into actually being one.
Thanks for the support @supersexyy

I think you're right @supersexyy, but he does lack mh detection skills. He has no brqs for maphack up. If you get denied @Wake_N_Bake I will teach you how to use DRM/DRMF/DRS/FCD so you can get approved. If you get approved, same goes.
I vote that Nick gets approved despite lacking knowledge of mh detection. I will gladly teach him. I think he will learn quickly. I've seen him around LTD, and he's always been helpful to noobs.

Re: Wake_N_Bake@useast
Ah, a fellow 31 year old
Application seems nice. As BCTW said, lack of experience with the tools and generally moderating it. No real involvement in the BRQ or Ban-appeal section. I am sure you would do good, but I am also sure that the ones in red would like to see you contribute at some of the BRQs or appeals. So my guess is that your application will either be denied with the suggestion to reapply in about 2 weeks, where you learn about the tools and get yourself involved in the mentioned sections of BRQ and appeals. Or they will hold it (Edit: I meant their decision with "it") off until you start doing it and post some of your contributions in here (with links to the topics). Eithe way, go ahead and get involved there

I would gladly accept and appreciate any help youd be willing to offer @buttchugthewine. I have tried to learn on my own in the past but im not the most tech savy guy out there. I ended up getting frustrated and gave up. I would like to keep learning if i get approved or not. Thanks for the support.

Re: Wake_N_Bake@useast
Solid background, active player, seems to understand rules, app looks good. My biggest doubts here would be mostly:
- Never saw him on chat (could be just me): usually it's good to come on chat so that we can actually get to know you.
- No usage on tools (DRM, DRMF, Replay Seeker): This part will be a must on the daily ban requests you'd be checking, so i'd be against only for this matter, still as buttchugthewine said, feel free to ask and i don't mind helping you getting used to the tools (Even with experience, tools are still needed for a moderator work).
- Contribute by giving valuable information / your thoughts on unprocessed ban requests just to see how you judge different cases (i'd point out that maphack cases would be good for you to train on).
This being said, i'd say try to applicate in 1 or 2 weeks after getting started on these 3 topics (mostly the 2nd and the 3rd one, the 1st one is rather easy ^^), or, and i think this would also be fine if everyone would agree on - Keep his app open for at least a week to see his learning path on tools / giving information on unprocessed ban requests (If it happens, link the ban requests you comment here on your app).
I'd give him a chance, but not without any experience on tools / mh cases; I'd vote on the 2nd option - Keep his app opened and see how it goes (He seems to be willing to learn & quick on learning)
