Name: John
Nick name: None, John
Age: 18
Battle.net Name: Wisp.
Server: West
Game moderator position: DotA
Brief introduction: Hi, I am John, I am 18 and just out of high school. I enjoy gaming as my hobby which I have been doing for many years. I have been playing on battle.net for atleast 5 years. I Became interested into dota rather than any of the other games or ladders. I live in the U.S. And I wish to be a part of the staff because of people who ruin the games such as leavers, griefers, and other sorts of mischief.
What are your current hours of playing time (approximate)? I play about 5-12 hours a day on the computer (Usually Warcraft.)
What is your current time zone? Eastern Standard Time
Describe any relevant experience, both in moderating and in Warcraft III: I have not much experience other than a few bans I have made through appeals and am good at catching map hacker clues.
Why should we accept you? I believe you should accept me because I am active, friendly, and wish to remove any people who ruin games. Also, the staff count is low and I am willing to help a lot if needed. If this application does not work, I will try and try until I am able to become a moderator by meeting the requirements.
Why do you want to become a game moderator? I want to become a moderator to make gaming with ENT easier and safer.
What will you bring to the ENT/Warcraft III community? Active posts, helpful suggestions, reply to people ASAP.
Closing Statement: Thank you very much for your time, Wisp.

Re: Wisp.
Ok, I'm locking the thread pending more posts and other activity on forum (be sure to comment on a few ban requests or appeals with your own thoughts when you get the chance; see viewtopic.php?f=21&t=17 for other things). If you want to have it unlocked, PM me or another admin (name in red or green).

Re: Wisp.
What do you mean by making ENT safer? How would you do that?
Also, do you think it is more important to ban people violating the rules or to make sure that no one gets banned without a legitimate reason (or accidentally)? And why?

"What do you mean by making ENT safer? How would you do that?"
By making ENT safer, I was trying to get to the purpose of stopping people who ruin the games (leavers, afk/griefers, etc.) because when people leave I sometimes here, "See, this is why I don't play ENT, people ruin the games. Im just going to play some dc(DotaCash)." I would like to bring justice to the people of Warcraft!
"Also, do you think it is more important to ban people violating the rules or to make sure that no one gets banned without a legitimate reason (or accidentally)? And why?"
I think that I would do both reasons, violation or accidentally. Specifically, I would ban people violating the rules because its more important to stop the people who are ruining the games of ENT. If someone had a legitimate reason or accident then I would still review the problem, take my judgement, but also try to get another view on the reason and why.

Re: Wisp.
Oh, for the latter half of the second question, I meant someone getting banned for the wrong reason, being banned for too long a period, or just being banned accidentally. If you had to choose between banning one person accidentally and not banning one person who should have been banned, which would you choose (and why)?
Also, do you have any ideas on how to get more people to register and be active on the forum?

Re: Wisp.
If I had to choose between those two I would most likely ban a person accidentally because it is better to be safe then sorry in terms of speaking. If I did not ban a person who should have, then I completely failed at the duty. Also, by banning someone accidentally, they can make an appeal in which I could review and see that they shouldn't be banned and un-ban them.
I play a lot of DotA and I am always spreading to people to join clan ENT. After a few games I usually tell people to check out the forums, so I spread the information by messaging. In fact, I have already got a few people interested and in the clan.

Re: Wisp.
Ok, we have another question: what would you do if you saw another game moderator, having a bad day or something, venting at other players and calling them names?

First I would try to see why the moderator is having a bad day (or something), knowing the problem or not, I would try to cheer them up. If they were calling others names I would tell them to stop, because even if you are a moderator, it is still against the rules to flame or spam. If the moderator was persistent and kept calling names I would have to make a ban request or at least notify another moderator or admin about the situation. Even though you might be having a bad day doesn't mean you have to ruin others.
