Name: Grant
Age: 23
Game moderator position (see below for choices): #1 - DotA
Brief introduction: I am a Battle.net veteran, who has been playing DotA since the beginning. I've played on various teams and played in DotA during CAL-O season on Team Excuses (my other name was MyWirelessSux). I have not been playing DotA for the past 5 years due to college and have just started back up this summer. I also have DotA 2, which I will be purchasing when it is released at the end of August.
What are your current hours of playing time (approximate)? I play various times throughout the day, usually totaling anywhere from 2-10 hours a day.
What is your current time zone? Central time zone.
Describe any relevant experience, both in moderating and in Warcraft III:
I've led various Starcraft clans on Battle.Net since I was 13 years old. I've been on Battle.net way before Warcraft 3, and have had great experience using bots to moderate channels. Anyone remember the days where you could only have 2 Channel "Ops" and if you let another bot become the "Ops" they could but an autoban on the whole channel? I do! Anyways, after that I was a guild master of a 175 member guild on World of Warcraft (Serenity on Onyxia-US). I know the majority of battle.net commands. I use to play Ladder pretty hardcore under MyWirelessSux on USEast. Check the stats (I think I was at about 50% with a LOT of games played).
Why should we accept you? I am sick and tired of people using maphacks, or leaving games...completely ruining the games for others. I would dedicate my time to stopping those people from doing that, and making sure they are not doing it again. I have over 300 games played on my account, and have made various friends in ENT and outside of ENT just this summer.
Why do you want to become a game moderator? Basically explained it in the previous paragraph. I am an educated, mature, and intelligent person who would take this role very seriously. I would put my time into reviewing replays and help making decisions on whether or not to ban a person for maphacking or violation of any of the rules.
What will you bring to the ENT/Warcraft III community? I will bring a great attitude and a great sense of humor. Along with my experience with Battle.Net and gaming as a whole, I have great knowledge of Accounting (anyone need help on their taxes? ). Also, we should look ahead, because DotA 2 releases in about a month, and we should seriously start looking towards that end of the spectrum as well.
I put up a DotA 2 team idea here: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=1147
If anyone is interested in it, please let me know!
Closing Statement:
I am sick of people ruining such a great game, and believe that I would be able to help clear up the people who are abusive towards it. Also, I do not like to put up with people's "shit", if you know what I mean. I have a great sense of humor, but I can and will snap on people who abuse the game and game rules.
