Game moderator position (see below for choices): #1- DotA moderator
Brief introduction: I have played DotA for about 2 years, and have been playing on ENT for about 1 - 1.5. I would like to help out moderate dota bans and appeals, because lots of topics get posted there every day, and there are still a lot of unprocessed requests.
What are your current hours of playing time (approximate)? I don't know exactly, it depends on how busy I am that day.
What is your current time zone? UTC/GMT -5 hours
Describe any relevant experience, both in moderating and in Warcraft III: Yes, I have played dota for 2 years and am very familiar with ENT rules. I have also been an admin on my clan's bot before.

Why should we accept you? I know ENT rules, and will help enforce them. I can help with the ban requests, and make sure the rules are followed in ENT games.

Why do you want to become a game moderator? I wish to help make the community better by processing requests, and hopefully having people learn from the mistakes they make when violating the rules.

What will you bring to the ENT/Warcraft III community? I want to moderate the ban requests forum, and make sure that the ENT rules are followed and that game ruiners and other rule violators get banned and learn from their behavior. I will process requests and help around the forum.

Moderator have the job of banning user. You know that it come with high responsabilities. (Hope I typed correctly the word). You need to be sure of why you're banning a user.

Simple question; what do you expect from a moderator over flame? AND How would you act if soemone doesn't feed but doesn't help much? His score is like 1/6/3

Then people ask to !votekick multiple time on your team. What will be your decision.

If I become moderator, I will always say specifically why I am banning the user with timestamps to make it as clear as possible.

It all depends if the player in question is intentionally feeding. I probably wouldn't take action in that game, and wait til after, and watch it again. If he is purposely running into towers, etc, I would ban the player for 1-2 weeks depending on his history. If he is not intentionally feeding, no action would be taken.

If he is just a noob and not ruining, ingame I would warn all those who try to votekick that they will be banned for votekick abuse if they do not stop. If they continue to votekick, I would ban all the players who said !yes for one day.

I try to give advice and help new players, but if that player doesn't listen sometimes I get angry; though I won't let that affect my judgment when it comes to banning. I'll always judge fairly.

Do you mean what would I do if someone is flaming ingame? I wouldn't do anything unless it becomes excessive and violated the racism/flaming rules.

What Nutz meant was, what would you do during the game if a player flames. Answer should be pretty straight forward. Do nothing but just advice all the players that it is not right to speak in such a manner.
If there is a need to ban, you have to post a request after the game and seek other GM's view, whether to approve or deny. Banning in game is dangerous. It will portray an unhealthy image of you as some players will look at the flame topic in differing ways.

Abusing votekick: using !votekick to spam or when the victim has not done anything wrong; also refusing to votekick when a player has clearly violated a rule (note: it is possible for a player to ruin the game by both being new _and_ refusing to learn; in this case votekick may be used, but it is up to the players in the game to decide)

Votekicking: You must votekick a player who has broken any of the above rules. Failure to do so may result in a temporary ban.

Did he break any rule? No. You lost your cool to quick. Work on it. I still !support you. Make me sure I don't see this anymore.

I prefer you say, DAMN WTF YOU DOING. Then trying to kick without valid reason + telling ban. These command will be allowed to you in-game. If you use it and abuse it. I will be very, but very! Dissapointed.

Gotta add, after you saw the way he play, you tryed to talk with him. Asked why he did thing, to not do it anymore etc. But if you had power, and !kick it directly. You wouldn't had this talk, and saw what he's capable of. That's what I wanted to show you. Do not take that as a blame, and that it will kill all hope of being moderator. No. It will help you to get involved, better and to learn from your mistake. Hopefully, this happend BEFORE you been a moderator. Correct these little thing and you will be fit for the position.

Windrunner was getting flamed all game. But then, windrunner threatens that she will intentionally feed to ruin game, runs into tower, and dies once. THEN i start the votekick and threaten with report because they do not !yes it. She ended up not feeding, and apologized for it a moment later, so I did not end up trying to report. Windrunner absolutely did break a rule, but only once, and it had no impact on the lategame. I expected her to continue feeding, she did not, so VK was not necessary. She says the reason for her intentional feeding was that Kunkka made her angry. I watched the entire thing when she suicided btw.

You say dying once isn't enough to votekick, but I think it is if it was an intentional death. if you go in and autoattack a tower and die once, I will votekick. I don't think the player needs to feed many many times before getting kicked if the feeding is intentional. Better to stop the feeder before he ruins the game by feeding. By the time the feeder is 0-10, it's too late to votekick because it's over.

I'm sorry for any mistake I made, I am trying to improve my judgment, but I was watching the entire thing with blue after he said about feeding on purpose. I saw his tower dive, and I thought he was going to make us lose, so I started a votekick and threatened to report those who didn't yes it.

Please look at the screen shot, was the votekick invalid?

(edit) I overreacted, yelling in all chat, and I'm sorry. I was with friends, and the game was probably won by that point because SF had became so farmed, but it only takes one feeder to make a win into a loss. Blue had threatened to feed, and then charged tower, so I wanted to kick him fast before he destroyed game. Most people once they start rushing into towers continue until game is ruined or until they are kicked.
