Name:eldryan
Age:18
Game moderator position (see below for choices): Legion td and can Civilization wars
Brief introduction:Hello moderating team! I'm EldryanLeSage, an enthusiast of LTD and Civ that has a lot of experience in game dealing with noobs and out of game setting up InHouse games for tournament and joining obs games. I also have posted a bit in the ban request forum
What are your current hours of playing time (approximate)? It varies, depending on my schedule, but normally during typical USWest hours.
What is your current time zone? US West.
Describe any relevant experience, both in moderating and in Warcraft III: I have a lot of games played, and have dealt with a lot of noobs/flamers and can discriminate well between who is trolling within "acceptable" limits and who is throwing a game and deserves a !votekick.
Why should we accept you? I won't criticize if you don't (accept), as I actually don't know your needs as a forum moderating crew, but if you do I believe I'd make a great moderator in terms of devil's advocating for players who aren't necessarily deserving of bans.
Why do you want to become a game moderator? To help the community.
What will you bring to the ENT/Warcraft III community? I came here because I thought this was a bot that was far less ban-happy then other bots, and would accept more if someone left once with a 100 games no leaving then other bots that ban 3 days first leave, 7 days second, etc.
Closing Statement: After playing a lot of LTD, and a lot of civ wars, (eldryan@uswest/useast) I can see that the civilization wars community could definitely benefit from some sort of noob protection program, as all noobs get almost immediately vked since the game is so interlinked, and flamed because of something imperceptible. Also, a lot of the koreans will spam vulgarities at the other team/players on their team, and flame etc. instead of communicating, and I think the noob should have an optional "1v1" term pop-up after a certain number of cuss words have been said (there's a character counter) so that he can engage in 1v1 mode for his lane to determine his outcome (this would be agreed upon by both side's lane) and the other 2 on his team can focus on their lanes. I think another reasonable goal I'd have is to implement an Auto Balance game to break up team-stacking, which unlike LTD/dota will almost guarantee +10 ELO. Thirdly, I'd like to implement a "!draw" command that's optional (if it's there, I've never seen). Lastly, I'd like to see an optional "High Ranked" civ wars, as the disparity is simply so huge and a single noob can destroy a far more competitive group (In Auto Balance, the highest would automatically be mid).

In Legion td, the only thing I'd like is to add a "non mercenary" mode, that can disable merc without -li, or have a bannable mercenary choosing in a !votenomercenary scenario.

Obviously I want this position for the power (not to showcase) - to implement these things, and to play games without afkers/people trying to ks in LTD (building offside). It's also great that I can help by reading appeals for bans that might've been wrongly placed, and to grant passes for extenuating circumstances such as weather/emergency/troll mode/etc. As far as abusing !kick and !mute, I obviously won't. I did a !votekick on someone recently as a sarcastic reprimand against his threat to vk me if I went merc (which he already was, but I'd have to delete all my stuff), but did so as a point to those spam "if you x, !votekick user". I honestly hate the option to kick people who aren't afk/saving a completely unreasonable amount (not saving sends) and having a score of -100 in a nonmerc, etc. I don't think !votekick is entirely beneficial, and if I could I'd remove the tool completely except in afk/super-low-score with save but not afk. Or in dota if someone is purposefully feeding, ie. 0/5 with a creep ratio of 0/0.

Can you be more specific like 3-5 hours, etc?
eldryan wrote:What is your current time zone? US West.

Do you mean UTC-8?
eldryan wrote:In Legion td, the only thing I'd like is to add a "non mercenary" mode,

I don't see how being a mod on ENT will help you with this. ENT is a WC3 community that hosts games, not a map making community.

Well i'm pretty neutral towards your application. You've got 1 ban against your name but that's not too bad considering you learnt your lesson afterwards. But you do need to be more active on the forum. Although you do meet the requirements for applying, you aren't that active in terms of ban requests and appeals.

First :
to implement these things, and to play games without afkers/people trying to ks in LTD (building offside).
What will you do if someone build offside?

Second : I think !draw is implented in all bot. Dota have it too. I guess civ's as it too.

Third : Let dota to dota mod if it's not stuff you can visualy see. Like item destruction, MapHack (with fog-click) if there's no fog-click, leave it. Afk grief. The dude running in fountain for more then 5-7 min. These are thing you can judge. The feeding part, like you said, can be denied, if the hero is a support and is 0/5/8. All good. So don't deal with such stuff that is 'game playstyle'.

Fourth : Good Luck!

Ok stoping counting.

viewtopic.php?f=24&t=6249 > in this request, you reported someone for nothing. Bad judgement, imagine with power what you would made.

viewtopic.php?f=24&t=6232 > Idem. Nothign wrong, you thought it was bannable. You will need to learn :)

viewtopic.php?f=24&t=5537 > Idem.

viewtopic.php?f=24&t=5566 > Good one, still the time of incident could be input.

Well I will stop there. You need to improve yourself inside ban request/appeal. I know appeal isn't easy to message in.

Start with request. We'll see how it goes over few week. If you keep working over it, and improving yourself, I will say !support.

Until there, I gotta be !neutral. Wish you best!

Unfortunately my friend, I can't support you just yet. You have made some erroneous judgement calls in the past and you need to take into account that if you ban someone for something not bannable that they would be mad as a hornet on their appeal. This doesn't mean that I won't support you forever, just show me that you can handle a position of authority with effectiveness by commenting/making requests and providing good input on appeals. Denied for now, but my decision will lean the other way in time.

As a Mod, the primary objective is to maintain a positive atmosphere for gamers.

In my opinion, you should state your intentions to provide for other users when they face a problem and post on forums.

From what i observed from above, you have yet to prove your worth.

Please provide valid reasoning to substantiate your point trinity, his primary responsibility is proper judgement.

on those 2 bans you speak of "xmilena" and "cantplay" both of them were to demonstrate a point and neither to actually ban them. they play together, and one was threatening to use inside connections to falsely ban me. I reported them to call their threat. I don't seek to have them banned since I have no evidence...and that's not bannable. However, I did the motions to call. Funnily enough, outside purposes do sometimes factor into reports that will be intentionally denied...(on 2nd note, I believe that inside the chat I did mark he was inventing things to 'ban' or 'votekick' ie. accusing me of votekicking someone I didn't, although not enough to demonstrate)

@Nutz: The remaining two weren't illegitimate, and I stand by them (did you not read? sea was going on his aka and throwing the game on purpose, under the guise of "noob". you can tell when VEERY experienced - however, I did a lot of stuff w/ Sea, and didn't want him banned after he explained outside of ent. I had thought it was a different player who trolls a lot of clan Pope members (48.1/danger/etc.). The 2 you listed first weren't to ban, so "with power" = nothing (maybe a reprimand for lying about banning someone using false info, but no 3 hours or anything). Also, if 0/5/8 and ZERO CREEPS, then he's feeding. He will have 0 money and couldn't support. Not game-style lol. If build offsides, obviously kick...

I do agree with the above posts talking about relevant "ban appeal/ban request" input. I was looking for requests/appeals and there was only one in MH, which I'm not an expert in.

Game ruining by feeding is not determined by summary page.

Please watch replays from start to end before jumping to conclusions and derive an unsound judgement.

It wasn't feeding. It was throwing the game - I was the middle player...@qtrinity.

I would like to ask how you want to creat a mode without mercenary. You will remake a map or how?
I will not say anythink about your apply, but i was curious about that one because I would like to have it.
games without merc would be very appreciated and fine

I'd have an option in prophet/hybrid (modes you can't start merc) and have a "!votenomerc" option. if 5 people say !yes, then any1 who mercs is removed.

Yeah i don't like that idea and becoming a mod won't affect whether your suggestions are accepted or not. I mean you could just post that idea in the suggestions forum right now, but it's unlikely to be ever implemented. I'm not trying to sound like an ass or anything, but do you even know how the commands on Ghost++ work?

I don't, but it's a very simple layout, and obviously would be pretty short.

As far as implementing it, it IS IMPLEMENTED in 3.5, and wouldn't ever become implemented without !votenomerc. It doesn't make sense to "not like" it.

Looking into it, I have MSV (Microsoft Visual Studios), premium version so have all the tools. Also, the suggestions forum doesn't exactly get anything done. let alone the heavy modding suggested for civ. Is ghost ++ knowledge of large import?

Your game suggestions has nothing to do with your application to be a mod. If you want to make a suggestion use the suggestions forum.

You haven't really given a reason of why you want to be a mod, or why we should make you a mod.
