Game moderator position (see below for choices): Legion td and can Civilization wars
Brief introduction:Hello moderating team! I'm EldryanLeSage, an enthusiast of LTD and Civ that has a lot of experience in game dealing with noobs and out of game setting up InHouse games for tournament and joining obs games. I also have posted a bit in the ban request forum
What are your current hours of playing time (approximate)? It varies, depending on my schedule, but normally during typical USWest hours.
What is your current time zone? US West.
Describe any relevant experience, both in moderating and in Warcraft III: I have a lot of games played, and have dealt with a lot of noobs/flamers and can discriminate well between who is trolling within "acceptable" limits and who is throwing a game and deserves a !votekick.
Why should we accept you? I won't criticize if you don't (accept), as I actually don't know your needs as a forum moderating crew, but if you do I believe I'd make a great moderator in terms of devil's advocating for players who aren't necessarily deserving of bans.
Why do you want to become a game moderator? To help the community.
What will you bring to the ENT/Warcraft III community? I came here because I thought this was a bot that was far less ban-happy then other bots, and would accept more if someone left once with a 100 games no leaving then other bots that ban 3 days first leave, 7 days second, etc.
Closing Statement: After playing a lot of LTD, and a lot of civ wars, (eldryan@uswest/useast) I can see that the civilization wars community could definitely benefit from some sort of noob protection program, as all noobs get almost immediately vked since the game is so interlinked, and flamed because of something imperceptible. Also, a lot of the koreans will spam vulgarities at the other team/players on their team, and flame etc. instead of communicating, and I think the noob should have an optional "1v1" term pop-up after a certain number of cuss words have been said (there's a character counter) so that he can engage in 1v1 mode for his lane to determine his outcome (this would be agreed upon by both side's lane) and the other 2 on his team can focus on their lanes. I think another reasonable goal I'd have is to implement an Auto Balance game to break up team-stacking, which unlike LTD/dota will almost guarantee +10 ELO. Thirdly, I'd like to implement a "!draw" command that's optional (if it's there, I've never seen). Lastly, I'd like to see an optional "High Ranked" civ wars, as the disparity is simply so huge and a single noob can destroy a far more competitive group (In Auto Balance, the highest would automatically be mid).
In Legion td, the only thing I'd like is to add a "non mercenary" mode, that can disable merc without -li, or have a bannable mercenary choosing in a !votenomercenary scenario.
Obviously I want this position for the power (not to showcase) - to implement these things, and to play games without afkers/people trying to ks in LTD (building offside). It's also great that I can help by reading appeals for bans that might've been wrongly placed, and to grant passes for extenuating circumstances such as weather/emergency/troll mode/etc. As far as abusing !kick and !mute, I obviously won't. I did a !votekick on someone recently as a sarcastic reprimand against his threat to vk me if I went merc (which he already was, but I'd have to delete all my stuff), but did so as a point to those spam "if you x, !votekick user". I honestly hate the option to kick people who aren't afk/saving a completely unreasonable amount (not saving sends) and having a score of -100 in a nonmerc, etc. I don't think !votekick is entirely beneficial, and if I could I'd remove the tool completely except in afk/super-low-score with save but not afk. Or in dota if someone is purposefully feeding, ie. 0/5 with a creep ratio of 0/0.
