Screen Adjustment

Postby Tascar » Fri Sep 13, 2013 6:14 pm

I have a Fujitsu T-902 and the resolution on the screen I'm using is 1600 X 900 X 32.

I have this problem where when I load up Frozen Throne, the screen is stretched out. So a square portrait looks like a rectangle:

(_) becomes (____) for example.

Is there anyway for me to set it up so that there are black bars on the side that keep the proper viewing ratio? Thanks.

You must have a recent patch for wc3 also. If you are using a broken version of wc3 with Garena and are at version like 1.24, you can only go to a certain resolution. But if you are on 1.26, I believe it allows you to choose any resolution that you're monitor has.

I can switch the resolution in game to 1600 X 900 but it comes out stretched.

What version of wc3 do you have? And do you change it in game or as soon as you start wc3? Try changing the resolution from the options as soon as you start wc3.

Sorry I misunderstood what you wanted. Try http://forums.battle.net/thread.html?to ... 7804720307

Or run Warcraft III in windowed mode.

I can't get any of these to work, except trying to run it in windowed mode, except it's really really ghetto.

When running WC3 in windows mode you can use the Windows Mouse Capture(WMC) to prevent your mouse from going over the edges. Personally, I'd rather run the game in full screen than having an okay windowed mode but that's just me.

So to reiterate, use WMC to get rid of the ghettoness from playing in windowed mode.

Well according to the article that uakf.b posted, WC3 is meant to be at a 4:3 resolution. Thus, for the best quality, put the game at a resolution that matches that ratio.

(aka take the bigger number and times that by .75 to get the smaller number. So 1600 times .75 = 1200. So you would want the resolution to be 1600x1200. So try to find a resolution that is selectable by WC3 that meets that ratio and that will have to be the one you use if you don't want it to be distorted.

My computer is not scaling Frozen Throne. So even if I select the right resolution in game squares come out looking like rectangles.

I've managed to get a almost similar ratio by using windowed mode but that's really ghetto.

Hm...odd. I guess my only other suggestion would be to try posting on a Blizzard support forum and see if someone knows there, but likely no Blizzard admins watch for wc3 support anymore.

Not much else we can do to help with this, sorry. Moving to Resolved.
