Maphackers -> instantly rangebanned?
Is this the possible solution to get rid of maphackers on this server?
Can you guys tell me the reason why maphackers aren't rangebanned?
- Timeconsuming
- Rangeban affects innocent players
As far as I can see, there are no reasons to not rangeban hackers straight away. As it is now, hackers just reset their router, make a new acc, and they're ready to go. They get rangeban ONLY if they are DETECTED bandodging, which can be challenging to counter.
Can someone explain to me why hackers are rangebanned?

@Marimekko
People usually have a set of ip. Some people have dynamic ip type and others have static ip type. Ip ranges will behave differently person by person or by isp. Whether hackers can get away simply by resetting modem depends on isp and where they live. Therefore, we will not know "how" or "what" to range until we see a dodge. Just banning a geographical area will lead to banning innocent people, yes. You can google the net to learn more about how ip can change or not change and behave differently.
Range ban will only be required if the person dodges their bans.
