Announcement/Top Rank.

I think would be cool if we have an announcement system to declarate the top rank..
Example: "we would like to congraulate X, on achiving #1 rank"
Just to the rank #1 bcuz the rank #2 is the first place of the losers.

what about a weekly #1? so you could have an overall #1 like flower has been for the last 20 years lol. and then you could have a weekly #1. i guess maybe who progressed the most* in said span? or the highest ranked player who was active for that week?

Yes, but you need to update the announce to keep saying who is the #1

I have done it in tourneys, my suggestion is about the rank... some aliens they don't know there's a rank.

I dislike the idea of judging rank 1 based on stats, perhaps a better way is through popularity. Plus flower whether deliberate or unintentionally always has good players in his team, however he is a good player. The best players of dota seem to not even use observers they just predict movement solely on map awareness.

Source: Watching people play at Asian cybercafe and dota tournaments at those places. (They don't even use map hacks and their skill level is legendary....)

i mean a popularity contest could be fun but then again there is players that dont care about other people in the game they just wnat to play. and if they are really good why shouldnt they get recognition?

They already have the recognition, since they are good elo would back it up.
