Make Alias checker public again

If I remember correctly it was decided in a staff meeting that the tool would be made private and has been that way for quite some time. uak didn't mind the tool being open to the public but that doesn't change the fact that he was forced to remove public access to it, so to speak. At the end of the day you're going to have to convince the moderators to make it public since they're the ones that influence the tools accessibility.

I would support this if there would be any REAL benefits for ENT or the community when alias being public again.

So lets look at the benefits OP pointed out:

1. Reconncting with old friends:

You do not see dates, nor most alts due to dynamic IPs.
You cannot !alias accounts that are too old.

2. Watchdog role:

It is our job to watch YOU not the way around. You can always apply as mod if you want to do a watchdog job.
This is also rather a personal reason and not a general need of the whole community.

3. Allowes user to create moer thorough ban request:

Irrelevant since mods are checking alt accounts when they ban anyway. And even when you would knew it and directly post it mods would recheck it anyway. Hence this is a useless argument.

4. Allows to help create more truly fair games that people can enjoy playing.

People are enjoying games at the moment, if they wouldnt they would not play on ent. Also making alias public will make it worse than now with a lot of alts. With alias checking it wont be alts, it will be group-hate on certain people, alt-checking whole game, your and enemy team, and dodging when you are likely to lose.

5. The alias checker makes peolpe feel special:

Wouldnt define that as "benefit" for the community.

Give us reasons and REAL benefits for the community as a whole. You are just stating your own personal demands and wishes.
Also, the community does not need it. It might be a nice add to have as normal player, but its nothing you need to have as a normal player.

Now you may think, after reading my post, that I'm completely against opening the alias check back up to the public but I'm really not. Though I don't support it being completely open to the public, I do think there should be a more lenient requirement than just being a moderator. Perhaps if you're a donator and/or have a reasonable post count you should be granted access to the alias tool.

I share Dreads thoughts on this.
It would prevent most of the abuse I see coming - also it could add a little extra cash for more tourneys

Hey I know for a fact that the alias checker gives a last seen date. I used it for a long time before you guys took it away from me. Also I did use vent but during the break I had gotten a new comp and had no vent info I am far better than you at dota no worries noob.

Also metal as a mod I would appreciate you to make your posts more relevant and to the point. TO be honest almost every post you have put into any one my threads recently have been basically to troll. Also you littered my post with false information about the alias checker stating a last seen date.

That is all I am going to continue to post since I realize that quite a few new moderators who tend to up their post count by flaming people and posting irrelevant comments on threads people make who want to try and better the community. All in all new moderators fail to care for the community as old moderators. The removal of the alias checker is cause mod's don't want to do their job or even take 15 secs so someone can help find a friend they never used steam vent or whatever else with. Not to mention with things like vent its possible to lose vent infor etc.

I would like to give a special thanks to TELLER55 the only dude who seemed to be reasonable and give this thread a chance.

As for iznogood and metall-drago you two are part of the reason ENT will do much more quickly than it needs. You are the new moderators who come in and act as if you have been given some power from god that makes you guys able to blow people off after giving them irrelevant information and your bullshit opinion which has no factual knowledge behind it. Please review your Mods more carefully than well he is nice. Search for competence.

This will be my last post on ENT forums as I am beginning to see that as time goes on a new corrupt crowd of low skill players are whining their way into getting the rules changed so that they can feel as if they are a better player than they are. Keep giving those noobs power.(Don't forget plenty of respect for some old school dudes but keep these new shitty mods on a leash and pay attention what they post to get their post count up. especially iznogood and metall-drago who is most definitely more of a forum troll than a mod)

IN GENERAL IF SOME loser was trolling my game w/e im the victim of a noob but rather this was a mod.


In general mods dont want this because they dont want to cover their own ass and are being cry babies about shit its too bad uakf.b let new trolls become mods and change things so that the ent community can faster go down the drain than it already is I already know several people who quit for dota 2 or any other game because the way the ENT community is going and has been treating its long time player base.

So I'm only trolling people on the forums? Care to give examples? You being better at dota is irrelevant for this thread. Firstly im ID mod and secondly do mods not have to be godlike-skilled, but you cannot know that with your limited view.

All I ever see you writing is "mods are all breaking rules on alts" , where does that grudge against mods come from? My post are not relevant to the topic? Again, give me quotes?

There is no way for us to tell if your "friend" was actually someone who just tried to hide from you - that you were just stalking.
All players have the right to have some privacy - If you find a friend again just make sure to find another way to contact him or just don't change aka's?

You do realize it was the moderators that made the tool private and insulting them won't help with your case? But since you aren't going to post in this thread anymore I'll move it to archive. If you want it reopened you can PM me.
