Re: Disable stats
I strongly agree with cyber.
I think there are more benefits to hiding stats in lobby. I am not agreeing to delete stats completely.
!sd is not needed to start a game.
Showing the avg elo of both teams and showing the gain loss if win lose difference should be good enough measure to understand what type of game you will be playing on: easy, hard, challenge, predictable.
I do not understand why some of you reply to the post without even reading the OP's suggestion in the first place.............He is not asking to DELETE STATS completely.

Yeah it's true
+players who have just started with ENT and have low stats wouldn't get rejected.

true, some people from bgn did like not having stats shown. and ENT did have their stats shown and whos autohosting bots were more popular? seeing as how we took them on and merged them with us i would guess more people like having their stats shown. i personally like my stats. and want ppl to see them. but having the option to hide your stats wouldnt be a horrible thing except when you have people who are extreme feeders. example: the average elo of both teams is 1200 but one spot left open on your team. you want to have a good game. now some kid who has 22 games played and has 33 kills and 192 deaths joins the game. whos going to want to play with him? granted we allow noobs to play and we cannot kick him. however, i will go to another game and that should be my right to know who im playing with. if he hides his stats he would ruin that game because no one would know.

Re: Disable stats
Disabling stats doesn't work with ELO system, the ELO scores would all be calculated incorrectly. You continue discussing it but still no one has given solution to that.

Re: Disable stats
Who cares about ELO!! <3 How about the user has the ability to disable stats once, and only after 1 month he can re enable if he wants to?

Re: Disable stats
@uakf.b if you hide stats from public does it mean the bot still cant read your stats?
and @cyber if you make it so you can only SD in game and not in lobby you may as well delete stats because 80% of the time when you SD someone during a game you cannot see their kill/death. you get their elo / games played/ and kills. but not average kills a game and nothing after kills.

Re: Disable stats
Not really, people may check their kill/death at the stats page? O: The main point is prevent ppl from stacking/rage quit in lobby. Even if they are using the website to get such info, it won't be so fast as the command !sd was.VirusHunter wrote:and @cyber if you make it so you can only SD in game and not in lobby you may as well delete stats because 80% of the time when you SD someone during a game you cannot see their kill/death. you get their elo / games played/ and kills. but not average kills a game and nothing after kills.

Re: Disable stats
I mean I don't play games with stats, actually I don't play warcraft 3 anymore at all but the way I see it is that if it can prevent stacking, rage-quitting, complaints, and overall reduce negativity then I don't see any harm in at least giving it a trial run to see how it fares.

Re: Disable stats
as for the stacking. well, most of the time people who "stack" are playing with friends (or brothers). and doesnt matter what their elo is. however i do agree it will prevent people from raging about it. but looking each person up online would just take too much time. im sure you probably think - then just dont worry about stats and play the game - but its not that im worrying about it, i just like knowing. If i see someone new i know not to expect too much from them and i can be more useful in helping them. if i dont know then im expecting them to be on my level. if you know what your allies level of game play is then you can be more effective at giving them their roles. not that stats is a clear view of how a player plays. they could have a good game or a bad game or w/e, it just gives you a pretty general idea of how they play.

Re: Disable stats
Just as a note if you think that getting rid of stats is more fun why don't you just delete yours every 15 games or so under the ent link function?

Re: Disable stats
People do use elo to stack... Saying otherwise is naive.
However, elo is a good way to keep people competitive.

Re: Disable stats
Is anything going to be done about this? I know I don't play dota but this suggestion has been sitting here for a while. Did we reach a consensus or is there still consideration.
Re: Disable stats
What about something like automatically displaying the stats of the person in the last game they played, or last 5-10 without a hide option--- but if you want to hide stats from all previous game (before the last 1-10 or whatever) then that can be an option. That way it would be easy to avoid players who are placed in too high of a level of competition (or game ruiners). But it would still allow privacy
