I was wondering if it would be possible to add observer slot to civ wars games for those like me who wants to learn.
Of course, the game would start if teams are full (no need to fill observer)

Also, you could add rules saying that if observer tells in public the strategy of any players, they could get banned (about 7 days for example)

So, do you think it's something possible?

If observers share any information, then that's ghosting and already ban-able.

Regarding your suggestion to add observers, the bot would auto-start (if enabled) automatically even if the teams arent full (afaik).

Arent replays good enough to learn?

@Noctosphere Hopefully during the monthly tournament we will have observer slots to watch from. I know in past inhouse games we have done that. I might just need to talk with Civiliznations about making a proper config file for the games.

I do not think we need observers in normals. Game already take ages to start and I think the integrity of players might be pulled into question if the public bot had observer slots.

I think art)y has the right idea though - watch replays if you want or get ready for the tourney and watch those games.

I'm against this suggestion (and hope that referees will be chosen wisely for the tournament).

Use replay if you truly want to learn. Denied.
