Automatic stats reset / transfer

This has been brought up before, but never formally.

I think the topic title speaks for itself. Something to reset/transfer without moderator intervention. Maybe need some limits, maybe not.

The reason there should be a limit on transfer is that it takes the higher of two ELO scores when a transfer is done, thus if there was no limit, it could be abused.

idk, i dont think that the abuse would be that severe and you could always take a case by case if you see someone abusing then stop it. since there really is no set rules you do not have to transfer someones stats.

now are you saying we can transfer stats from one of our accounts to another one of our accounts using a tool on the website or will it do it automatically? or.. what exactly do you mean automatic transfer / reset.

teller55, I don't see much abuse unless they get <1000 ELO and then make new account to get more ELO. Anyway we could add restriction on the source stats, so need 15 games played for the source account in order to transfer. Of course both accounts should be validated.

For stats clearing, is any restriction needed?

I think stats resets should not be limited to a number of games, but a number of days since the last reset. Makes it harder to abuse (in what way ever). I dont quite get the concept of the transfer stuff.
Would it make me able to ge the elo (and number of games etc.) from one account added to the other? That would make room for a lot of abuse too... (maybe I'm just too stupid/tired to get it though )

You can only do it with accounts you have validated on Ent Link, so if you have you brothers password and validate their account under your forum name, then yes I suppose you could take their stats.

happy early xmas.. kids will be very happy to clear/transfer their stats..
I'd say to not do it and put a limit to admins to approve transfer/clear stats requests.
Or... do it but before you do it, try to find out all kind of abuse.. of course, to prevent abuses by users, put a limit, and not based on 10 games.. make me proud of you uak.

So, just as example, how would it work if I transfered my stats from holyschimmel@useast to holyschimmel@europe? would my old stats still be there and the new ones just get added or would the old stats on the europe be replaced by the stats on the useast account?

when you transfer target A to target B you lose all stats on target A and they all get added to target B. the highest ELO is taken for your new target B account stats.

ok nice, so its actually not a transfer of elo, but just game stats (as in number of games, wins, losses etc.). I guess that makes it harder to abuse. I thought elo would be transfered as well, which wouldnt really make any sense...

Like VirusHunter said, it takes the maximum ELO of the two. So it does transfer ELO.
