instead of having auto balanced or hr games which nobody ever joins. how about trying to make a new apem bot but instead of 5v5, make it 3v3 or 1v1. I feel like it would be really cool if we could do 3 on 3's so each hero gets to solo there own lane in the beginning. Or if you made one bot -apemom so we could 1v1 eachother.

Don't listen to beer, he's drunk. It is possible and CD keys aren't an issue. Does anyone else in the community like this idea?beerisforbears wrote:@uakf.b

Re: dota
Well ENT isn't a pure DotA community so I'm not sure I'm fully sure this is a great idea. That said however, most of our traffic comes from DotA bots. We already have 6 apem bots and I personally think that's already enough considering we aren't a 100% DotA community like void or cash.

Re: dota
well you dont need to be a "pure" dota community to add a 1v1 or 3v3 bot. Just get rid of the useless HR games or auto balanced games since they are almost never played. Try switching one them with 1v1 apemom or 3v3 apem and see if more people play that game type more than the hr or auto bal games. im sure people would enjoy 1v1 or 3v3 a lot more then the dumb hr or abal games

Re: dota
Well I'm okay with having 1v1 games because no one can complain about stacking and there's no way a person can really break any rules. Not sure about 3v3 games though :o

Re: dota
1v1 or others are personal preference.
Dedicating bots to do this is unintelligent.
It will not be popular at all.
If you want to pit your skills in such settings, as per Beer, just create you own games.
Do note that Auto Hosted Games should also ELO score.
Lets look at 1v1 whereby a friend deliberately feeds scores to another. A perfect way to gain score right?

Re: dota
who are you to say it wont be popular? have you given it a try? i guarantee it will be wayyy more popular than the HR or a-bal games since noone ever plays those. and if your thinking about the elo cheating. then maybe cancel elo gain/loss for that type of game only. but you shouldnt punish the entire community from 1v1 just because some people might try to abuse it. Thats like shutting down all dota bots because some people cheat and maphack. I say we make the 1v1 bot atleast for a week to see how popular it is, and if we find too many people cheating, than we switch it back. But i think it would be very fun to have 1v1's
Re: dota
Generally Practiced Rules of 1v1 solo mid.
HCL : -apom
Game is won when 2 kills are achieved or Tier 2 tower is destroyed.
* The Bot cannot enforce this.
Leavers before World Tree or Throne is destroyed.
* The Bot will ban players who leave the game.
With this factors taken into consideration, the Autohosting Bot will act against players. And removing auto bans will lead to more game ruiners in such 1v1 settings.
Thus i question the intelligence of dedicating a Bot to autohost 1v1 game.
Get it?

well people wouldnt need to leave before the throne or worldtree is destroyed. People can ff when they know they are going to lose. And the 2 kills or tier 2 tower rule wouldnt be a good way to determine a winner in a public match anyways. Just keep things normal. have apemom or apom. and killing throne or tree wins game. That simple. The game will pretty much be over if one person goes 2-0 or 3-0 really quick. and in that case the other person will ff and the game will be over.
Re: dota
Since you place into consideration of Losers using !ff to announce a winner, what about players who deliberately not !ff and choose to feed deaths?
Account boosting is the main concern here. If we are to remove stats achievements, the placement of such Bots will lose its appeal. Agree? And if so, the 1v1 autohosting Bot will not be popular to the masses.
If this is going to be an unpopular Bot, I seriously do not think committing such Bots to this 1v1 will be any meaningful. The only way to popularize this 1v1 Bot is to offer standard ELO scoring. But allowing Scoring will invite abusers. I do not mean to say that you will abuse it. But we can comfortably agree to idiots out there who will leverage on it.

well i dont see many players feeding deaths on purpose rather than ff. if they are legitimately trying but dying a lot. thats part of the game. but your right. account boosting is a big issue. so we should check the games every now and then and enforce really strict punishments if people were to abuse the 1v1 bot. sort of like how xbox live would ban or demote people people that used to hack themselves to 10th or master prestige. if we catch people abusing, than reset all their elo back down to 1000 or give them a harsh ban like a month or something.
