!ff = 10min
Hello gents,
I would like to propose making !ff available starting 10min into the game for DOTA. I have suggested this n was rejected in the past, but i still strongly feel games should not be less than 10 min.
Reasons:
1) on avg, u wait 5min in lobby, so game should be at least twice ur wait.
2) other dota alike games have !ff systems starting 20min... Why would this be?
3) a game should NOT be easily given up. Some heros shine mid/late game or r clearly able to outcarry mid/late game. Giving an option to technically GIVE UP too early deteriorates player and gameplay quality.
These were the counter arguements:
1) i dont wanna waste my time. I just wanna !ff n move on.
2) all ally team will have to !ff, so when matters?
3) players will leave more games because they cant wait the 10 min, so ruin more games.
-my reply: allowing !ff defeats our competitive psychologies ppl should have. !ff is a convenience? Dota2, HON, LoL have !ff at like 20min... If ppl leave more games bcz they cant !ff before 10 min...these easily give up noobs deserve banned. !ff is a nice command, but giving up too early also is a disrespect to the other team. Why give up without trying?
Other solution:

Yes I agree with this as well @uakf.b in Dota LOD the -ff command which is already enabled is 10 minutes. for Reg dota I believe actually !ff should = atleast 10-15 minutes.

10 min is bit low but atleast 10 min.. I think 15 minutes should be minnimum. You joined game to play not to just quit because you have one bad game or not, you can wait 10 minute for other players that has joined to play the game for fun. Please do change time to 10+.

I would have to say that I support this idea because often people in public games give up simply because one lane is doing bad and feeding/getting pushed in. While this is happening they fail to realize they may have imba late game carries which could pull them through possibly winning the game even with the horrible start. All in all this idea would help people to better learn to play dota as well as foster more competitive play.

Nabo. You are one of the few people i still respect in clan high, you always have my support.
More to the details, !ff should be used only as a last option, I think 10 mins is fair, most other bots have 20 min+, just like in league of legends. This would make less time wasted as well, waiting in a lobby for 20 mins only to have !ff when they !sd after first blood, etc. Thanks ent staff.

too many times have i seen teams !ff after first blood, and they also ff games they could have easily won due to hero matchups. forcing them to wait longer might help them see this potential to later come back and win the game, instead of taking the loss and moving on. would make games be more gg instead of bg.....possibly

This is a good idea, you are left feeling so unsatisfied when you wait 10 min for a game to start then 5 min into the game they all !ff.
Putting this time restraint will at the very least give you some time to pwn some people enough to make you feel better.

I have to agree that time restriction is a good idea. So instead of having always a bunch of !ff because of leaver, people may be fair and type !draw instead.
Still, you have all to type !ff (a team) to make it actually end the game. So 10 min should be max wait. You can always see if your allies are throwing/feeding or whatever in 10 minutes or so.
This would be a good implement to the bots.

If you are concerned about your team forfeiting before ten minutes, then don't !ff? If you are concerned about the other team forfeiting, well, that's their problem. It's also less disrespectful than fountain farming for five minutes and wasting everyone's time.

@uakf.b, so your against this suggestion because possible fountain farming before 10 minutes?
It is true that excessive fountain farming is geared more towards harassment and waste of time. But fountain farming in itself (I believe) is part of dota and can also be viewed as a pub strategy. Fountain farming happens in LoL and Dota2. It is actually easier in dota2 to fountain farm comparing to dota1. From my experience before 10 minute time of a game, it is easier for a player to die trying to fountain farm than getting more kills. Heros are not overly strong at this point.
ENT has rules for peeps who excessively fountain farm. They can be reported and can be banned. So I do not see why fountain farming before 10 minutes is a waste of time. If you cannot hold your base before 10 minutes (early-mid) game... is this not more sign of lack of teamwork? There are enough towers and no matter how fed the other team is, it is not hard for 5 heroes who spawn back with full hp to fight back at their own base killing the opponent heros who are probably not full hp and are not 5 before 10min time of the game.
The main reason I posted this suggestion is because I have had too many games in which opponent players !ff at 4-5min of the game just because our "mid lost" or "xxx is fed". There are so many alternative ways a game can end whether it is a hard comeback or a hard fight but still a lost game. Ofc everyone wants to win, but not all LOSE games are bad games.

If everyone on the other teams wants to forfeit then they should be allowed to forfeit. This is common sense.

I am not asking to remove !ff completely. I am merely suggesting a time restriction. Dotacash, LoL, Dota2 all have time restrictions.

did you even read this thread or are you just making another useless post?
we are not asking to rid of !ff only put limitations on it. what nabo said is right, why should everyones time be wasted because noobs want to cry FF as soon as someone dies mid.
@uakf.b i wouldnt be afraid of people fountain farming within 10 min. its just unlikely that in a pub game someone or a team would be strong enough to fountain farm enough for us to be worried about it. but if it was something you are seriously concerned with why not just make a rule banning fountain farming within the first 10 min of a game.

agree 100%, rule should be no ff before 15 mins
so many times i have been on a team who all want to ff at like 10 mins because some early game allstar like clock or ns is running rampant. Meanwhile, I have been farming well as a carry and do not want to ff because I know my hero is superior late. Yet when people know its easy to ff at like 10 mins then their mindset is ok 4/5 people want to ff on my team, so ill just give up completely, which is not only pansy but ruins the possibility of making a comeback. So then they just do not help each other and the game is ruined.
