Civilization Wars Rules - Input Welcome
Hi guys
I am writing up an official set of rules which are to be applied for civilization wars on the Ent bot.
These rules will be enforced and bannable.
Feel free to give input on any rules I have missed, overlooked or should be changed.
These rules are to be run side-by-side with the general ent rules (no votekicking noobs etc)

Rules (To be reworded)
1. No selling towers
2. No claiming middle lane without permission unless middle is afk for the first tick
3. No -era, -space mode combined
4. If a player is afk you must either pause and wait, or process a votekick. Resuming the game will result in a ban (Not votekicking AFKs is already bannable under ent rules)

For the sake of clarity, how long does a player need to be AFK before it becomes permissible to kick them (and bannable to refuse to kick them)?

Just like any other game you may process a votekick while they are afk to start a game, if all players agree then tough luck to the AFK player (as he shouldn't have been afk).
I think a minimum of 1 minute should elapse before it is bannable for refusing to votekick.

But the player who paused the game should at least explain the sittuation(Hey we have a afk, -paused) in the global chat before he pause the game. A minute is good enough.supersexyy wrote:4. The thing is 99.9% of games are not playing with custom modes. Instead of the 999 requiring to ask for the game mode, the onus should be on the 1/1000 who want tk choose a custom mode.

I don't get your point. Just because we have few players which like custom modes we should ban them because they are watching some video on youtube while they are waiting for the game?

Well if you do intend to choose a custom mode (99.9% of games are normal mode, the other 0.01% are trolls) then you just have to say 1 line in the lobby before the game starts. Its not a big ask.

No, it's not, but there's no log to players who joins the game.
So if the guy is on fap fap fap, the others will not know what mode he will make.

Well the chance that the red player is afk in the lobby is quite low. The chance that red wants to play a custom mode is very low. I don't think players should need to ask what modes the game will be each time they join a game.

What chance of getting hiv from one time of protected sex with hiv positive? There's a chance, why we should risk?

Because that shit lasts a lifetime, not 2 days lol.
Ok well don't worry about the custom mode rule then. I don't think red should be votekicked for being afk, and thus we won't bother with the custom mod rule. Its not a big deal anyway.

I don't think you should ban someone for being afk lobby. I do this all the time, as it's easy to tell when game starts. Just implement a !draw, or eliminate stats for non normal mode games (who the hell gives stats to space mode rush mode?)

No selling towers - I assume this is a detonation issue. Detonating is a Civilization Wars mechanic that allows a player to destroy a camp of his own in order to preserve "build limit" or the ability to build in a lane other than the one that player has claimed. After you go OVER build limit, you are taxed every turn. In some cases, a player will go over build limit to defend a certain lane and then when it is safe, detonate his excess and deactivate his others to save gold in the long run. The issue coming here is that some players detonate camps to fuck their allies. In THIS event, I think it could be a game ruining experience as the player is deliberately attempting to end the game just to spite his allies.
No claiming middle lane without permission - I cannot agree to this. You don't ban people in DotA for calling middle and others going there, do you? (Do you? I don't know x_X)
No era and space combo - Hopefully I can fix this in version 2.32 which I have been putting off, but I have some time this coming week. But really, this is a map issue, not a rule issue in my opinion. This is my responsibility to patch. Sorry I am slow!

If you votekick, at least the team can carry the lane. If someone is afk and you unpause it, you are ruining the game by removing the competition which is the basis for the game.
