Castle Fight ELO

Hi,

I would like to propose an issue more than a tailored suggestion. I only really play Castle Fight, and so it is only really relevant to that as such.

As I perceive it there is a problem with the ELO system in the way it makes players, particularly experienced ones behave.

I am finding more and more that when I enter a game there will be three experienced players (>500 games) on one side, and three "noobs" (<10 games) on the other.

This results in predictable games, and artificial inflation of those experienced players statistics.

In fact many people are refusing to play with "noobs" at all.

What BNET (standard wc3 strategy matchmaker) does is it groups low level players into the highest level games, with the rationalization that these players can act as sort of mentors to the former.
.
I personally relish the chance to teach a newer player about the game, but it can be hard when it is two noobs and I vs 3 players with >500 games.

I can see the benefits of having stats but I think on the whole there is an insidious attitude being constructed by the current statistical skill system. I think something needs to change.

ENT should create autobalance in others games too. Man 99% people just stack. I played many games like 900 vs 1200 or more elo team. Battletanks use that system. ENT guys after countdown teams should be balanced.

U can also create maybe +1200 elo games.

Currently CF has 3 bots: normal, 1v1, 2v2.

Considering each bot has about 700-800 games per week, I dont want to split the playerbase further. Perhaps if we eliminate one of the 1v1 or 2v2 bot and replace it with an autobal or 1200, sure.

What are the drawbacks from autobalancing CF games, aside the fact that its harder to play with friends?

Well, I'm not sure who that question was aimed at, but I'll answer it as best I can.

I do not think you should make a 1200+ one because new players should be given the chance to learn how to play the game at a high level.

Trying to view it as objectively as I can I would say that if you make an auto-balanced one the only other draw back from the aforementioned is that some people might be unwilling to play on it, and you might find that people fake accounts.

I have a tendency however to give people the benefit of the doubt. I think people want to play with fair teams, but they group together because they are scared of being left on a team of "noobs".

I think autobalance would be best for everyone, noobs and pros. No one will be stuck on a bad team unless there aren't enough good people.

I think it would emphasise the ELO system because if someone has a high score when it's autobalanced, it's like "wow, this guy knows what he's doing".

The red slot would have to be static however, to ensure that someone who knows what they are doing can enter the mods.

I would say an autobalce for castle fight would make no sense, cause people can make easy a new account or have played very much 1vs1 before and it would be a unfair balance when someone has a guy in his team who is rlly new and the other team got the smurf account or someone with awesome 1vs1 stats , i saw many ppl with bad 3vs3 stats but are awesome cf players in 1vs1 with 2 or 3 workers,if the new bot is there i dont know if it has succes many of the pro players from ent are in cf clans and just want to play with their mates in one team. i play already 4 years here on ent, the 1100 elo bot 3 years ago was also a fail because noone joined there and if, it would be the same the 1600+ are in one team vs guys who has only 1100-1200. but i personally dont look on stats, i have seen that a guy who has 900 elo beat a 2000 elo guy from 3vs3 in 1vs1, i would let the bot how it is there is still a chance that u can beat a stacked team

@KochamKesi
I also think that a 1100 or 1200 bot will not work for cf despite its decent playerbase, the playerbase is split due to diff CF bots. Unless we eliminate one or two, I do not think this is a good idea.

We have implemented !votebalance

For now, do try with this. If you still insist on your suggestion, repost it and we can further consider about it.

sidenote: there are alot of fake accounts too, and some just exist to trick the autobalance function.
