Stagnation was the fear of getting an Autohost bot if it gets stuck on a number and going long without a game launch could look bad for the map. We got a few games Autohosted games right away over the weekend but the end result was actually people are hosting Genesis on MMH a lot more and people are interested in the map (not very conducive to turning autohost numbers, but good for the map). I was in a MMH game that filled and while in the loading screen saw another Genesis was already being hosted. Maybe I was too moderate in that replacing ENT41 with Genesis for a trial as you suggested nabo might have been the better idea? Maybe I was also too hasty in going for a Autohost bot? Especially when there is already an established autohosted Azeroth Wars ENT bot. Any thoughts?

I kinda expected this due to ent's current azeroth wars palyerbase.

If genesis is being hosted and played regularly on mmh, why do you want more players to play on ent autohosted? You want the current azeroth wars ent players to switch to genesis? You want mmh players to play on our autohosted azeroth bot? Bot setting differences? Since azeroth wars doesnt particularly have elo or specific stats, whether it is popularly played on ent or mmh, should not matter too much?

You must understand that for a bot to become popular, aside the map being fun and stable, the fill-rate has to be decently fast and people first gotta be aware that ent is hosting genesis.

Same, I was aware that ENT41 is a very establish source of consistent Azeroth Wars Hosting. Going up against LR has never been easy.

The bot being stuck on a number could look bad for the map, at the same time autohosting can be quite beneficial both for exposure and playing if a game is filling or about to fill.

i just saw that genesis is on the ent bot...but, its been up for 83 hours without a game...longer than LR lol

There of course was no way of showing that our MMH numbers were up, so people just see the bot stuck and go lol.

Well, more or less yes, the ENT41 bot is hosting 1.90e which was released a long time ago and with no 1.91 series forthcoming or LR continuation in general Genesis would seem to be the better long-term alternative. Though I initially didn't want to 'shock' the ENT41 with a different map and give players a chance to see the map.

I wouldn't mind a healthy amount of both being played on MMH and ENT. Genesis does have game modes that could be better suited in a private host setting.

Not really, but in this case people could see ENT41 turning numbers faster and draw their own conclusions without having actually played both maps.

Yeah, the bot is barely a half week old and ENT41 has been hosting Azeroth Wars for years? We have an uphill battle so it would seem but that has pretty much been the story of Genesis. lol

For the most part though we are back to work on the map with a renewed vigour and should have a new version ready to release in a week or 2.

Will see whether the bot activity for genesis changes in a weeks time. If not, we can replace the replace the main azeroth wars bot to genesis and have a trial run.
