In the current 6.83d chicken can take runes. It does not give xp to hero by taking bounty runes, but it does give gold. As far as i know, you can take any rune with chick. DD and illusion doesn't do anything but you still deny the rune to enemy.

In this way you can deny runes without losing xp by leaving your lane, and still get gold from bounty runes.

I suggest that this action is bannable under glitch exploit. A flying courier cannot take any runes.

who the hell leaves a normal courier to a rune spot in order to grab runes? i wish my enemies did that, +150 gold for all team lol.

Who said leaves? One moves the courier to the rune to arrive at spawn time. Unless ally hero is waiting there already, the rune is lost. And even if someone is already waiting there, if it's not a ranged hero, it would be really hard to get 2 hits in, and even with boots, chasing down the chick for a second hit is not possible because of ms. And what if it's haste rune and the chick got it? You think you can chase down a chick on steroids?

So if it's a mid hero, going for rune (as it's most often the case) you're losing xp for nothing, if you arrive seconds late.

Confirmed: Unupgraded courier can pick up runes (flying courier can't, you get the message "courier can't pick power ups") - I gotta say i play regularly (on arem bot), and havent seen anyone using courier to pick up runes + tested this on previous versions, and on dota 6.81 the same already happened (unupgraded courier can pick up runes, flying courier can't), so this is not something new.

Besides courier, syllabear bear can also pick up runes for example - you also get the bounty and effects of it on the bear.

So considering this is something that has worked on past versions, and considering not only the courier but also the bear can pick up runes for example, i dont really see a point to consider banning this.

Current info says : Animal Courier can neither pick up runes, nor put them in the Bottle
Reading the changelog (that, I think, goes prior to dota 2 starting), I do not see any mention of courier being able to pick them up in the past.

My research leads me to conclude that this is a glitch/bug, although I don't know what map this started with. I suspect the one that started giving extra gold per second.

So if it is a bug, we will allow people to exploit, just because it's been on the previous maps? Although most did not know about this, there is a percentage of people who read this will try to use it, because they will know now.

There are bugs in every wc3 map, with some of them being so gamebreaking that make this courier rune thing look insignificant. Theres no point to make such a scene for something that has more drawbacks than advantages because killing the enemy courier is the worst thing u can get early game...

I dont see big advantages to this usage or exploit.

I do not wish to see players banned for this seeing its trivial and does not impact the game greatly to a point of significance.

@shalama Although your suggestion is reasonable, do understand that making this bannable is not necessary or overall beneficial to everyone's gaming experience.
